Britain Mulling Evacuating Nationals from Lebanon over Regional Developments

The British Foreign Ministry is studying the possibility of calling on its nationals and those from the Commonwealth states to evacuate Lebanon in light of western reports from Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and Jordan that said that Lebanon and Syria are on the verge of an escalation, reported the Kuwaiti daily al-Seyassah on Sunday.

A British diplomat told the daily that other countries may follow Britain’s example, predicting that the evacuations may take place within a week or two.

These reports emerged in light of the deteriorating situation in Syria.

The diplomat warned that the deterioration of events in Lebanon and Syria may take on a bloodier course than the Lebanese civil war.

“Due to Lebanon’s affiliation to the Syrian regime, the country may become devoid of Arab and foreign nationals in two weeks,” he added.

He said that the Syrian regime has not committed to any of its obligations towards the Arab states, noting that they have no choice but to head to the United Nations Security Council to end the crisis in Syria.

Syria has come under pressure from the Arab League and international community over its failure to halt a violent crackdown against anti-regime protesters.

The League is expected to meet on Sunday in order to study imposing sanctions on the Arab state.

Who is going to get "hassouni"?. It is interesting how you can tell the zionists from the crowd. The zionists are so desperate that they are now using female phony names on websites. We can tell the M14 names like Marc, Patriot, and Peace, compared to the zionist names who want a Lebanese civil war (Marie and Geha) and want negotiations with the terror state of Israel (Geha).

Naharnet..erased Geha's call for civil war. Sorry, phony zionist, the lebanese are not going to have a civil war to benefit you.

Hassouni is already in his bunker and hasn't seen the light of day in years.

Poor Lebanese, they'll again pay a heavy price for the stupidity of their leaders. We need our Spring more than any other Middle Eastern state to rid ourselves from our so called leaders. Let's, for once, have leaders who are smart, honest and truly care for Lebanon and its people.

those who call for a "civil war" in lebanon just to fight the hezb never have suffered from a war it seems...or those who want to fight against the sunnis thinking they are all salafis because they are being brainwashed...

it s so hopeless to see that people never learn from history... what will a cvil war bring them? there is never a winner in a civl war, only losers, everyone loses! is it to feel a man with a gun in their hands? somethg missing between the legs replaced by the sense of power a kalashnikov gives them?

i hate the hezb because they feel above the lebanese laws and they work for their own interests but waging a civil war against them is no solution!

i advise them to watch nadine labaki's last movie...
the hezb will fall on their own, it s just a matter of time
