ISF Takes Traffic Measures in Beirut in Line with Presidential Election Session

The Internal Security Forces will take special traffic measures on Monday in parallel with a parliamentary session scheduled to elect a president, as Education Minister Elias Bou Saab issues memorandum for schools and universities to suspend classes for the day.

“The parliament will meet on October 31, 2016 in a public session set to elect a president for the republic and some traffic measures will be taken,” an Internal Security Forces statement said.

The measures include: “The evacuation and closing of the Banks street in Down Town Beirut from 6:00 am until the session ends.”

Some areas will be isolated starting from “Zoqaq al-Blat Mosque, Riad al-Solh Square down to the al-Markazia building. Another area will be isolated beginning from An Nahar newspaper building up to the Banks street area, Fosh, Allenby, Avenue Francois al-Hajj the intersection of Bank Audi, Wigan and Riad Solh Square,” said the statement.

In parallel with the above, Minister Bou Saab said that all schools and universities will suspend classes on that day.
