Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri stressed Monday that “Lebanon is committed to all the Saudi-led causes” as visiting Saudi envoy Prince Khaled al-Faisal announced that Lebanon should not be “an arena for Arab discord.”

“All the conferees here tonight have come to confirm that no one can harm Lebanon's ties with Saudi Arabia,” said Hariri at a dinner banquet he threw at the Center House in honor of al-Faisal and the Saudi delegation.

The banquet was attended by ex-presidents Michel Suleiman and Amin Gemayel, a representative of Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker PM Tammam Salam, ex-PMs Najib Miqati and Fouad Saniora, caretaker Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil, Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea, Kataeb Party head Sami Gemayel, a number of MPs and ministers, and representatives of the spiritual leaders.

“Your presence here confirms the kingdom's commitment to its brotherly ties with all Lebanese,” Hariri added, addressing al-Faisal.

“The timing of your visit on the eve of Independence Day highlights the kingdom's keenness on Lebanon's independence, sovereignty and prosperity,” he said.

“Lebanon, which is keen on its Arab identity, is committed to all the Saudi-led causes, from the issue of regaining all Arab rights to combating all forms of extremism and terrorism,” Hariri went on to say.

Al-Faisal for his part stressed that the kingdom wants Lebanon to be “a place for Arab accord, not an arena for Arab discord.”

The senior Saudi delegation had held talks earlier in the day with President Michel Aoun, Speaker Nabih Berri and caretaker Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

his father was more intelligent than him, Hariri sr supported the resistance that's why the zionist state assassinated him....

Thumb lubnani.masi7i 21 November 2016, 21:59

Gibran and Pierre were against your filthy sectarian resistance, why did the "Zionist State" assassinate them?

Thumb justin 21 November 2016, 22:06

@Southern..........

There were and are many Lebanese politicians who support the resistance ( Wiam Wahhab, Nabih Berri, Michel Aoun, SSNP, Franjieh, to name a few) why do you think the zionist enemy only chose Rafik Hariri to assassinate?

Thumb justin 21 November 2016, 22:09

Nassrallah not only supports the resistance but he is the father of the resistance and since 2006 he appeared publicly at rallies and during ashouras but israel declined to assassinate him. Why is that?

At the military parade in Qusayr last week there were hundreds of people and fighters along with their tanks out in the open including Safeiddine who support the resistance but yet again the zioinist enemy failed to assassinate them. Why is that?

Every Sunday, Qaouk or Yazbik or Raad deliver a speech at a gathering in the Bekaa or the South and is transmitted on TV and the zionist enemy never sends a drone to assassinate them. Why is that?

@Southern..........

Dahieh is full of huge posters of friends of the resistance such as Khamanei, Nabih Berri, Abdal Malek Al Huthi, and recently Michel Aoun but not of Hariri. Why is that considering Hariri was a friend and a supporter of the resistance?

Thumb justin 21 November 2016, 22:53

@Southern........

The "loyalty to the Resistance" parliamentary bloc is loyal to the resistance and its supporters. Considering Hariri was a supporter of the resistance, the "loyalty to the resistance" bloc never visited his grave in DT. Why is that?

Good night @Southern......

@Southern........

In the past, when certain of hezbollah leaders were allegedly assassinated by Israel, hezbollah retaliated against Israel by carrying out some kind of an operation. Since Hariri was a friend of the resistance and supported the resistance, did he not deserve a retaliation from hezbollah against the zionist enemy for assassinating such a great supporter of the resistance? Why is that?

God forbid, if it were Berri instead wouldn't hezbollah carry out a major retaliatory strike against the zionist enemy?

Thumb justin 21 November 2016, 22:33

@Southern.....

Upon the assassination of Hariri, hezbollah supporters hailed the occasion and there were celebratory gunfire in dahieh, why is that?
