After the Joint Parliamentary Committees finalized discussing the controversial wage scale file, Speaker Nabih Berri said the file will be included on the agenda of the parliament when it meets next Wednesday, the National News Agency reported on Friday.

The Speaker called the parliament to session at 10:30 next week to study and approve several draft laws and bills and it will include the wage scale, NNA said.

A day earlier and during a parliament bureau meeting, Berri said he will consider the wage scale in the agenda if the joint parliamentary committees complete discussions.

The Joint Parliamentary Committees finalized on Thursday evening the draft new wage scale and referred it to parliament.

The committees agreed to grant non-commissioned officers a one degree hike in addition to the increase that was granted a day earlier to soldiers, whose salaries will jump monthly from 655,000 to 988000 Lebanese pounds.

Public administration employees will meanwhile get two degrees while public school teachers will get three degrees.
