Hand Grenades Explode in Ras Baalbek Garbage Bin
Two hand grenades exploded Wednesday evening inside a garbage container in the Bekaa border town of Ras Baalbek, causing no casualties, state-run National News Agency reported.
“Army and intelligence units arrived immediately on the scene and cordoned off the area as a military expert headed to the site to specify the type of the grenades,” NNA added.
Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) described the devices as “percussion bombs.”
Al-Jadeed television said the garbage container lies near the Mar Elian Church.
Media reports said the area had witnessed a similar incident around twenty days ago.
