Danielle Arbid's movie Beirut Hotel was banned in Lebanon by the General Security because it contains explicit scenes and it "puts Lebanon's security in danger".

The director Danielle Arbid said on her Facebook page that her latest film "cannot be shown in Lebanon ! Its release in Beirut, originally scheduled for 19 January 2012, has just been cancelled."

The censorship committee had argued that : "The film would endanger Lebanon’s security."

The film was scheduled to screen at the Dubai International Film Festival Monday.

It is a shame that Lebanon is still not civilized by banning movies in the 21st century when porn and explicit movies are daily shown via satellite dishes & The internet. Why do Lebanese officials always fear the truth & why is Lebanon claiming to be civilized when it is not?
