The French Embassy in Lebanon on Monday expressed “utmost admiration and support for the Lebanese army in its battle against the Islamic State group.”

“Lebanon and France are today facing a common enemy,” added the Embassy in a tweet.

It also extended condolences to the families of the soldiers who were killed in the ongoing operation and expressed solidarity with the wounded.

The army heavily pounded IS' hideouts and posts for the third day in a row on Monday, as it scored advances in the outskirts of the border towns of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa.

The military began its operation in the border region early on Saturday, and has already recaptured two thirds of the territory in the area.

While more than ten soldiers have been wounded in the clashes, a mine blast killed three troops Sunday while on their way to join the offensive.

Drones are a message not against ISIS but a concealed threat to the Lebanese army. Hizb will do everything it can to hurt the Lebanese army and keeping it weak as no respectable country will accept a militia funded and armed by brutal nations unless given no choice. Hizb long standing strategy is to backstab the army and instigate a confrontation between Israel and the Lebanese army just like in 2006... the more death the more destruction the better Hizb aim is served... all using Aoun as a cover-up while Hizb leads Lebanon to isolation and economic ruin, gradually swallowing the country and its institutions, and sacrificing our freedom and democracy to the benefit of the Iranian's Bazij and the criminal Assad. Cedar Revolution I got rid of the Assad’s brutal occupation. Cedar Revolution II will get rid of Bashar evil twin the Iranian Basij masquerading as national resistance. Masks are down and truth can’t be hidden anymore!
