French Flights Delayed as Security Workers Strike

A two-day old strike by French airport security workers that triggered widespread travel disruptions during the busy holiday season is expected to stretch into Sunday.

Security personnel will strike at Paris's Charles De Gaulle airport, at Lyon and possibly at Toulouse airport, said Christine Hamiani, a union spokeswoman.

Unions demand new negotiations on working conditions and salaries.

Strikes since Friday have already hobbled some operations, with more than 100 flights grounded in Lyon on Saturday.

Passengers at Charles De Gaulle faced security delays, though no flights were cancelled.
