Hariri: Those who Assassinated Rafik Hariri, Wissam al-Hassan are Cowards

W460

Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced Thursday that “those who assassinated Rafik Hariri and Wissam al-Hassan are cowards.”

“Wissam was a brother to me, and his loss on the personal level was very big. But it is a greater loss at the national level, because he was the man who worked to protect Lebanon from all dangers,” Hariri told reporters after visiting the tombs of al-Hassan and his companion Ahmed Sahyouni on the 5th anniversary of their assassination.

He added: “Today we tell his family that we will not forget this cause, and will carry it to the end.”

“We will continue this journey and we will continue their message,” Hariri vowed.

The premier's father, ex-PM Rafik Hariri, was assassinated in a massive suicide truck bombing on February 14, 2005. The U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon has indicted five Hizbullah suspects in the case and an in-absentia trial is underway.

The 2012 murder of Maj. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan, who was the head of the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Branch, has been largely blamed on Damascus.

Shameless!

I think almost everyone knows that Hezbollah killed Rafik Hariri. Saad Hariri has 3 options as far as I see it:
1. He can initiate a revenge operation against one or more high profile Hezbollah oficials. Of course only the head of Nasrallah would fit the bill as bit enough for the loss of his father. The danger is that it could ignite a sectarian bloodshed, and we all know whos the strongest power at the moment. Dangerous also for the life of his closest ones and himself.
2. He can boycott everything concerning Hezbollah and effectively play himself and his sect on the sideline of developments of Lebanon, while hoping for a verdict from the tribunal (and then what?)

3. He can try to control Hezbollas power and influence as much as he can to safeguard his country while maintaining his status on the Lebanese political scene....while hoping for a verdict against Hezbollah-members from the tribunal (and then what?)

4. None of the above because he has no courage to stand against the killers and he says that sitting with them provides stability....in fact it only postpones the crisis!!!
