President Michel Aoun has called on Saudi Arabia to “clarify the reasons for the delay in Prime Minister Saad Hariri's return to Lebanon” after his shock announcement last week from Riyadh that he was resigning and amid reports that he is being held in SA.
Aoun added that “Lebanon does not accept its prime minister to be in a situation that contradicts the international agreements.”
Aoun called on the participants in the Beirut Marathon that takes place tomorrow to “run under the slogan of the return of Hariri to Lebanon to confirm solidarity with him and to clarify the ambiguity surrounding his presence outside the country.”
Addressing a delegation from the Beirut Marathon led by May Khalil, Aoun said: “Lebanon with its people, politicians and athletes does not accept that its prime minister is in a situation that contradicts the international agreements and the rules adopted in relations between countries.”
He called on Saudi Arabia whom “Lebanon has deep-rooted ties of brotherhood and friendship to clarify the reasons that have so far prevented Hariri's return to Lebanon to be among his people and supporters.”
“The Marathon of Beirut will be a national event tomorrow, in solidarity with Prime Minister Hariri and with his return to his homeland," he said.
A political crisis has gripped Lebanon and shattered the relative peace maintained by its coalition government since Hariri's announcement Nov. 4 from the Saudi capital that he was resigning.
Lebanese officials have insisted on the return home of Hariri from Saudi Arabia amid rumors he is being held against his will.
I have the utmost respect and admiration for general aoun of the revolutionary guard who is now president for not accepting his prime minister is in a situation that contradicts the international agreements and the rules adopted in relations between countries.
To me, he has proven to be the baba of all Lebanese without a question.
“As long as there is Israeli-occupied land and as long as the army is not strong enough to fight Israel, we sense that there is a need for the presence of the resistance's arms so that they complete the army's weapons,”

“Hariri can say whatever he wants. Who asked him not to return? There is another type of one-way ticket if he wants to return to Lebanon and he knows it.”

Shouldn't the iranian justice minister ask the iranian president what he meant by : "There is another type of one-way ticket if he wants to return to Lebanon and he knows it.”

the sudden outpour of love and sympathy by the iranian brigade in Lebanon starting from aoun all the way down to the paid trolls on the forum is sickening.
Not long ago, the very same people wished the man death and accused him of being a saudi stooge, an ISIS supporter and a terrorist.
suddenly, the wealthy shia Australian who travels the globe & has inside knowledge that no other person on this planet knows about is in love with mustahbalis;)
Saudis are ignorant stupid Bedouins who think that they have some semblance of civilization due to their massive oil wealth. Whether its Saudi Arabia or Iran, (which is worse), they all need to be neutralized so that the world can live in peace; especially Iran.
Aoun Calls on SA to Clarify Delay in Hariri's Return
But Aoun did not feel the need to call on Iran to clarify Rouhani's comments regarding " Nothing happens in Lebanon without Iran's approval" or when iranian officials said they control 4 Arab capitals, Beirut being one of them.
this president has sold his soul to the devil that is called Iran and Hezbollah. He under instructions from his boss nassrallah is diverting the attention from the content of Hariri's resignation to its outer procedural appearance.
The real problem here is hezbollah's total control of Lebanon and not how and where Hariri resigned!
