Merkel Hails Sex Assault 'Silence Breakers' Honored by Time
German Chancellor Angela Merkel paid tribute to the sexual assault "Silence Breakers" honored by U.S. magazine Time as its Person of the Year Wednesday.
"We must thank them for their courage in breaking the silence about sexual assault and for the global discussion they sparked," she said, according to her spokesman Steffen Seibert on Twitter.
Merkel was Time's Person of the Year in 2015.
