In light of Lebanon's preparations for its long-awaited parliamentary elections, Prime Minister Saad Hariri and figures from March 14 alliance have reportedly been ”summoned to Saudi Arabia” to be “informed of the Kingdom's will to reunite them together in the upcoming polls,” al-Akhbar daily reported Saturday.

The daily said it “obtained information” from undisclosed sources who said that “Hariri was summoned to SA along with several March 14 figures, and perhaps the head of the Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblat, to reunite them in one alliance and pressure them to run in the elections together.”

Lebanon's parliamentary elections are scheduled on May 6. By law, the electoral lists must be announced forty days before the due date.

According to al-Akhbar, “SA is seeking a strong return to Lebanon as part of a strategy, that informed sources say, will start working on within weeks.” The strategy “aims to restore the components of March 14 to wage the parliamentary elections battle as a single team.”

Rather than marginalizing the Lebanese file in favor of the regional files it occupies in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, it seems SA is seeking to win a Lebanese paper to use in its project in the region, according to the daily.

Lebanese officials who have reportedly heard from Arab diplomats about the Saudi role, said “SA began preparing. It will soon send a high-level envoy to Lebanon to meet with President Saad Hariri in order to arrange an integrated vision for the next stage.”

Reports also claimed that SA will pressure Hariri to prioritize his alliances with the March 14 components, mainly with the Lebanese Forces.

al-Akhbar is as credible as when @mowateh says he is lebanese, secular, and has only one account.

Ma Badna Hariri or Mustaqbal the iranian puppets. M14 is still alive within the people but certainly not the political leadership.
