Berri Blasts 'Time Wasting' on Govt., Decries Power Ships, Generators

W460

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Friday warned over the “wasting of time” in the government formation process as he urged a comprehensive solution for the country's chronic power generation crisis.

Speaking at an AMAL Movement rally at the UNESCO Palace in Beirut, Berri criticized officials who are “abandoning responsibility for the country, paralyzing the state and undermining what's left of the economy.”

“We will not accept the continued wasting of time and the delay in building the executive authority through the formation of a government,” Berri added.

He accordingly called for “containing the situation, making up for the wasted time, addressing the garbage crisis and building national capabilities to resolve the electricity file with utmost speed.”

“Producing electric power is the state's responsibility and so is the collection of fees,” Berri added.

“We want drastic solutions that do not depend on rented power generation ship nor on the traps of (private) generators,” the Speaker went on to say.

As long as every one of these lifetime leaders blame the others while his followers applaud him there will be no solution for anything in Lebanon.

The Lebanese have proven to be politically immature to the point of accepting those who have led them to disasters and who have brought them miseries as their saviors and protectors.

The sectarian yokes which the Lebanese willingly lock on their necks will keep producing or recycling such failed leaders.

You tell them comrade blablablablabla, and on a berri story to boot. It was Rafic Hariri alone with only Khaddam who stole lebanon no one else. Especially not the Assad, who as favor had his army in lebanon, and his extended family and all the hangers on who just got back in Parliament after almost a decade. Also it was was only Rafic Hariri with Khaddam alone who increased the number of Parliament seats to 128 from 108 so more of the Assad hangers on could share in the booty. Too bad that friends of the Assad extended family who were in control of Parliament all that time did not notice that Rafic Hariri with Khaddam alone and no one else were stealing lebanon. Your hard work will be rewarded comrade blablablablabla but remember to share the rewards with all your other alter egos. As you know one of the tenets of the 7ezb al-Qawni al-Souri is distribution of wealth, deserved or not.

@POS

Rafik Hariri has been dead since 2005 and you are still blaming him out of your filthy sectarian hatred. When Rafik Hariri died the deficit was nearly 39 $billion and today it is almost 100 $billion. According to you shia scum, the man has been stealing even after his death.

The Lebanese have proven time and time gain they cannot govern Lebanon on their own. They need to be governed by an external force, an occupying army, a colonial power. Then they will behave as civilized human beings.

Since as mentioned the Lebanese have proven over and over they cannot govern themselves, I suggest/hope/wish (take a pick), that France would come back and rule over Lebanon. Make like a French territory so to speak with a French governor. All institutions scrapped and run by France, Scrap the Lira and use the Euro. Maybe then and only then we'll have electricity, running water, clean environment, updated highways and roads and most of all Rule of Law, as right now it's a lawless country.

It won't work because the shias want to be ruled by Syria or better by the ayatollah in Iran.
