Reports: Hariri to Quit as Discussions over Successor Begin
Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri has decided to step down and he is seeking an appropriate exit, media reports said on Thursday.
“There is lack of a real political will to form a government and there is an intention not to form the government,” Lebanese journalist Johnny Mounayar said in an interview with al-Jadeed TV.
“PM-designate Hariri has decided to quit… and the decision is not to form a government with or without Saad Hariri,” Mounayar added.
“From now until the date of the parliamentary elections, we will witness the most dangerous months of the Lebanese crisis,” the journalist went on to say, warning that the country will witness further deterioration.
Center House sources meanwhile told MTV that “the issue of accepting an alternative PM-designate is being discussed by (Speaker Nabih) Berri, Hariri and the ex-PMs.”
“We have not heard of the report about (Free Patriotic Movement head Jebran) Bassil’s sadness over Hariri’s resignation and the presidential camp has done everything to prevent the government’s formation,” the sources added.

So what will change if he resigns? Will Bassil/Aoun accept less with a different prime minister and if so, it shows this is but a personal matter and nothing to do with the constitution, Christian rights, or similar BS.

With or without Hariri, the roadmap for the exit from the crisis is know to all, unless huzbullah wants to come with another unknown like Diab to complete his domination over Lebanon and turn it into a real failed state that would contain only poor people and an iron fist policy masterminded by Huzbullah and whoever supports it from the Christian side. It's obvious that Aoun has days to live due to old age and hence he's not counted anymore; Basil is burnt politically and no one would choose him for the presidency, and therefore, a Christian guy would have to be found to please huzbullah and completes its domination of Lebanon. This guy is obviously Frangieh. The story is closed and Lebanon as we once knew it is dead. The Lebanese would have to live with this reality for the rest of their lives.

Either hizbullah gets a government they can control from the shadows or their won’t be a government. They are ok with a resigned government until they can get what they want a paperweight government they can shove around. The only problem they have now is getting the foreign powers that will end up sending aid to help them Lebanese “survive” accept that and help anyways. I hope they don’t and find a way to rid Lebanon of this malignant cancer.
