Bassil Advises Miqati Not to be 'Hariri's Fifth Victim'
Free Patriotic Movement chief Jebran Bassil has advised PM-designate Najib Miqati not to be the “fifth victim” of ex-PM Saad Hariri.
“My advice for Miqati is not to be Hariri’s fifth victim. Hariri booted out (Mohammed) Safadi, (Samir) al-Khatib, (Bahij) Tabbara, Mustafa Adib and himself,” Bassil said in an interview on LBCI, referring to candidates for the PM post who preceded Hariri and Miqati.
Saying that, “God willing, there will be a government” soon, Bassil added that the FPM “will not interfere in the entire cabinet formation process,” and that it wants the government to be formed “quickly” and “according to the National Pact and the constitution.”
“But this is something to be decided by Mr. President, Mr. Prime Minister and the blocs that will take part, while our confidence will be granted or withheld based on the line-up and the program,” Bassil went on to say.
Moreover, the FPM chief said he “disagrees” with Aoun on a point related to the government. “According to what right does he prevent a camp from obtaining the blocking one-third if it is entitled to have it based on its size? When the President agreed to the idea of not granting the blocking one-third to any camp, that was the first point that pushed us to say that we won’t take part in the government,” Bassil added.
He also revealed that the FPM will not grant the new government its confidence in parliament “should all portfolios be rotated except for finance.”

Honestly i cannot stand Bassil he is the symbol of corruption in lebanon, but the political system in lebanon is just wrong. FPM and hizb Allah won the elections, they should form government and all ministers including the prime minister they should select, and the losing parties go into opposition and hold the government accountable, this is democracy and that,s how it should be.

You hit the nail on the head. They did attempt a couple of times to create their own government but failed miserably because of the rampant corruption and the willingness of international committee to work with them. They want a facade government of stooges corrupt but willing to let them continue on their hizb way and not impede their control over the country.

But when others under the so called March 14 won the elections after Hariri's murder, Hezbollah did not allow them to govern and insisted on participating in the government. On May 7th, it invaded Beirut and forced the Doha Accord which gave them one third veto power in the government.

This guy is playing with the Christian's fate and at large with the Lebanese's fate. In my opinion, he should have been behind bars a long ago for stealing people's monies. After all, he has been sanctioned by the USA under " Magnitsky Act" for corruption and money laundering. I wonder why the Lebanese Judiciary didn't act accordingly to uncover this crook. Oh, I forgot that the Judiciary is in the hands of his FIL Aoun and couldn't confront this crook!!!!!!!!!!!

أفرجت محكمة جنايات بيروت مساء امس برئاسة القاضي عقيقي عن الموقوفين الطرابلسيين "عبدالرحمن رعد" و "غسان العمر" وذلك بعد مرور 8 سنوات على توقيفهما من دون محاكمة بتهمة اغتيال عضو جبهة العمل الاسلامي الشيخ "سعد الدين غية" عام 2013.
الموقوفان اللذان تم توقيفهما بعد عملية الاتهام بقيا في التوقيف تحت التحقيق منذ حوالي
