The March 14 General Secretariat condemned on Wednesday Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn’s statements from Iran, deeming them as insulting to the Lebanese people.

It said in a statement after its weekly meeting: “We demand that he clarify his statements and call on the parliamentary defense council to convene to question him.”

His remarks reflect the government’s attempt to link Lebanon to foreign axes, it continued.

“The March 14 General Secretariat is committed to the slogan of ‘Lebanon First’,” it stressed.

Ghosn stressed Sunday that “Lebanon’s people, army and resistance are an invincible fortress in the face of Israel,” noting that the Lebanese "will never forget that Iran stood by them in great difficulties."

He made his statements during talks with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.

He hailed after meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran's “all-out support for the Lebanese state, government and resistance,” ISNA reported on Sunday.

Addressing the appointment of Salim Jreissati as the new Labor Minister, the March 14 General Secretariat said: “It has been confirmed to the people that the new members of government are chosen based on foreign and regional standards, not Lebanese ones.”

On the new history book being assessed by the government, the March 14 said: “We had previously condemned the mechanism in which decisions have been made regarding the book.”

“It is being studied in a suspicious manner, away from academic standards,” it stated.

MP Sami Gemayel had condemned the new book on Tuesday, saying that it has been selective in recounting historic events.

When I read in percian paper what he had said in Thran, I at first thought that it is a forged statements which is not so unusual in my country! But now, I am very surprised! Is he defence minister of Lebanon or of Iran?

Geha!! "Israel is going to wipe Hizbushaitan..." come on man at least please have some respect to your citizenship, it's like you suupport Isarel over hizbullah

I believe that Geha supports Israel over Iran. Why not after all? Israel is a direct neighbour...the other not so democratic nation isn't near by. Because of what happened on may 7, I'm now standing with Israel against hesbollah. The 2006 war they triggered was already one big mistake.

Sometimes the biggest enemies of a state are within and not on the outside. If it wasn't for the idiotic operation Hizb Allah did against Israel the 2006 war would have never happened. There is a coming war between Iran and Israel/US this is known to everyone and the Hizb Allah 'resistance' will drag Lebanon to another war to save face for its masters in Iran and Lebanon will pay the price for their idiocy once again. Hopefully the Syrian regime is finished by then..

Ghosn is not worth taking about, more importantly, it would be great if we could all take a look at the new history book... Naharnet can you give us a peek?

You hear so much garbage in the news, can this be true... attached to the book will be an hour dedicated to teaching the students about the resistance? I hope they have plenty of vomit bags handy.

Speaking of vomit, I see Aoun's head cheerleader is here... Using his favorite word... Stupid :-)
