Mufti’s Son Assaulted, Al-Mustaqbal Denies Involvement

Four men have assaulted Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani’s son at a restaurant in Beirut’s seafront of Raouche, the Dar al-Fatwa’s press office said.

The statement said that Sheikh Ragheb Qabbani was “beaten by “provocateurs while having lunch at a Beirut restaurant” on Wednesday. The men also cursed him and his father, it said.

Following the incident, ex-PM Saad Hariri’s Future News denied that the assailants were al-Mustaqbal movement members.

The denial came after Hizbullah’s al-Manar TV said Qabbani’s son was assaulted by Hariri’s al-Mustaqbal supporters.

Relations between the mufti and the movement deteriorated last year when Qabbani held talks with a Hizbullah delegation and Syrian Ambassador Ali Abdul Karim Ali.

well regardless of Slash's "opinion" I doubt the officials of Mustakbal asked their guys to hit the Muftis son, but it's probably some red necks who supports Future and did it on their own

Yeah, but hopefully, it doesn't start some armed tension, which is what is what Syria and Asharf al Ness want.

IT is very simple. If the assailants are caught and brought to justice, chances are they won't be from Hizballah. If they stay unknown, it means that they are from Hizballah.
Al Manar is accusing Al Mustaqbal to create a rift in the Sunni's street. Hizballah does not believe in justice, it believes in cheap propaganda.

Thugs exist on both sides, whether they are from hizbullah or Future.. someone belonging to a side doesn't mean he's doing it on an order from his superiors... I agree with Kesrweneh on that matter
