President Michel Suleiman called on the military and security forces to exert efforts to detain those who are breaching the nation’s security, the National News Agency reported on Friday.

“The military and security forces should exert efforts and investigations to arrest those who are manipulating (Lebanon’s) security wherever they are,” Suleiman stressed.

He said that the violators should be referred to the competent judiciary “as soon as possible.”

The president’s comments came in light of the army’s discovery of a “takfiri” network that planned attacks against the Lebanese army.

Suleiman also held a meeting with Labor Minister Salim Jreissati.

The two discussed the latest developments and the measures required to protect domestic workers in Lebanon.
