The army intercepted two vehicles carrying arms in the Bekaa border town of al-Qaa and detained four Lebanese and six Syrian nationals, local newspapers reported on Wednesday.

An Nahar daily said that the army discovered a van and a pickup truck that were carrying arms and confiscated a number of machine guns, grenades, and a grad rocket.

According to al-Joumhouria newspaper the four Lebanese were identified as: Ibrahim Rayed, Abdul Karim Rayed, Hassan Ezzedine, and Ibrahim Ezzedine.

The daily noted that the four Lebanese are from the eastern town of Arsal.

The Syrians were identified as: Youssef Saeed, Bilal al-Masri, Hussein Hammad, Mahmoud al-Asaad, Mouheddine al-Zouhouri, while the sixth person remained unidentified.

Al-Joumhouria said that the detainees were referred to the Ablah military base.

Conflicting reports on whether Syrian security forces infiltrated al-Qaa emerged on Monday.

President Michel Suleiman denied on Wednesday in remarks published in An Nahar that the Syrian forces infiltrated the Lebanese territory.

The army deployed along the border to prevent any penetration of armed groups into the Lebanon.

Lebanon and Syria share a 330-kilometer border but have yet to agree on official demarcation.

to iranian lover Mwaten:
I have to agree with bayyak :)
your affiliation and support to the iranian hizbushaitan definately means you are anti lebanese :)

Missing realist 29 March 2012, 21:48

The flag is misleading, it is wiser if you use the yellow flag representing your real state and capital lol. This is not insulting as i really doubt that you believe in the larger lebanese state that includes people you disagree with to the extent you wish them death and support their assasination (just like you wish 90 percent of Syrians death and destruction and you call them salafis). BTW the israelis call the Palestenians 'terrorists' too, so you are having more in common with them each day (read sub7i tfayli's advice).

Where was our super army when the bomb that killed PR Hariri was smuggled into Leb?? or was it in a similar truck to the one that Hizbzeft stopped from examining??

Default-user-icon Halaktouna (Guest) 29 March 2012, 09:05

boohoo ... yeah keep lamenting our army's status and keep hailing the fact that they can be bullied by your beloved Iranian/Syrio Hezbzeft.
As for the loser part ... once you matter, I'll comment on that

The death of Samer Hanna is a very very regrettable death. But even if it was an accident, the murderer can't walk away with only 6 months in jail. He fired a weapon on the army lieutenant and killed him! he should be court martialled and should spend X amount of years in jail as per army law. I will not say anything about the nature of the weapon used if it is legal or illegal etc.....The entry of syrian troops to Lebanon is illegal and should be reported to the UN.

Missing realist 29 March 2012, 21:53

if you kill your friend on a hunting trip in lebanon by accident you end up in jail for a minimum of seven years!. Hana's copilot was beaten hard by the hizzies, that is no "friendly" beating. If you dare beat an officer in the lebanese army and you happen to not be a hizzie (i.e not first class citizen) you land few years in jail too. F this state that some citizens can walk all over the laws and others treated like 3rd class.

so moukhabarat el jaysh is releasing the full names of the syrians openly now, it was directly only to moukabarat el baath, that is a nice improvment for their families to take care.

Thumb beiruti 28 March 2012, 17:49

Why doesn't the army stop and confiscate truck loads of weapons cruising about in the Bekaa that are headed to Hezbollah arms depots? Oh yeah, I forgot, in Hezbollahistan, their arms can travel about the country freely without interference from the Captive Lebanese Army, its the other arms that are to be used to liberate the Syrian people, those are the contraband weapons that must be seized.
Hezbollah? Resistence? What are they resisting now? Freedom and liberation from oppression, this is what they resist and oppose.

it's a sad day when Lebanese criticize openly the Lebanese army but follow blindly political parties

You are as Funny as your Clown General.

Default-user-icon Halaktouna (Guest) 29 March 2012, 09:08

Not as sad as when you openly put the wishes and commands of foreign states above your nation's.
No one is critcizing the army as much as just wondering why do they allow some violations to openly happen while they seem very capable at stoping them!
Go Figure ...

Thumb kesrweneh 29 March 2012, 22:30

as u know the free passage of weapons to Hizballah is a poltical decision granted by all PM starting by late Rafic harriri, his osn his assistant (siniora) so stop blaming the army for actions she can't decide

Missing realist 29 March 2012, 21:54

what's even more sad is that people found guilty of treason with the israeli 'enemy' go to jail for just two years!! FAYEZ KARAM

Thumb kesrweneh 29 March 2012, 22:28
