Unknown assailants tossed overnight a hand grenade at the Beirut building where Tawhid movement leader Wiam Wahab resides, As Safir daily reported Thursday.

The newspaper said the incident caused material damage only.

Wahab held Caretaker Premier Saad Hariri responsible for the attack and said he would file a complaint against him, according to As Safir.

The Druze politician has created a tumult in the country after calling veiled women in Saudi Arabia "trash bags."

He apologized on Wednesday, saying he did not mean to insult Muslim women but aimed to highlight "injustice" against Saudi women who are forced to wear abayas, a head-to-toe black robe.
