Two men raped a 32-year-old Lebanese woman in the eastern city of Zahle after assaulting her male companion and stealing LL1.5 million from them, the National News Agency reported Thursday.

NNA said that four men in a BMW with tinted windows intercepted the victims identified with their initials as K.T., 32, and J.D., who were in their Toyota on the Zahle highway, at around 1:30 am.

Two of the assailants took K.T. and J.D to an area nearby, robbed them of LL1.5 million after assaulting them, and then raped the woman.

The other two robbers took their vehicle to an unknown location, the agency said.

After the suspects made their escape, the victims went on foot to the al-Maalaqa-Zahle police station and informed security forces about the incident, it added.

I wouldn't venture that late at night in Lebanon.

Thumb thepatriot 07 June 2012, 11:17

momo says it is not related to politics...true...but does someone dare to raise his little finger in the south or in the bekaa without hezb's approval...?

Thumb geha 07 June 2012, 12:42

Mowaeten, give it up.
we all know it is only some thugs that can wonder in a tinted BMW in such areas.
stop defending the un defendable, and admit the proliferation of weapons among shia is creating a major problem to the country at all levels.

WTF???????? stealing their possessions, I can understand from the people in that area (not saying it is right), but raping the woman??? that can leave life-long psychological scars for her!!
This is a whole new low point. Protected or not, these guys should have their genitals mutilated!!!! This is so wrong from all perspectives.

This is such uncivilized behaviour ! Let us pray that the people who pretend to care about this country, make an example of these men, otherwise the last hope for tourists coming here, has just vanished! I know, because I come from a country plagued by this type of behaviour!! I beg the authorities to show that they care!!

Thumb thepatriot 07 June 2012, 15:54

@FT
Yes indeed. A lot of Lebanese have weapons, but they are not alloud to carry them... unlike hezb!

Thumb thepatriot 07 June 2012, 11:32

@slash, only ashraf el naas are alloud to carry weapons... only they are allowd to threaten, only they are above the law...

Thumb normzz 07 June 2012, 11:51

Missing ulpianus 07 June 2012, 12:33

Our minister responsible for the security in the country should resign. Clearly, these incidents are being daily news now in Lebanon, which was so secure 10 years ago ( compared to now).

New blood is needed. I mean imagine if this woman was your wife. She got raped after being with you, you couldnt protect her.

Some people are ready to go to war for this. I would.

So, more police more cameras and in all the areas!!

Thumb geha 07 June 2012, 12:39

Thumb geha 07 June 2012, 12:46

you know why it is this government fault? it is because they are the ones who have a state within the state, which is not the case of m14.
this is why hizbushaitan has to give up their weapons to the armed forces. and here t all those saying they are with the army: do not be hypocrits, either you support the army or not.

Guys, these kind of criminal and disgusting acts happen everywhere even in the most prestige countries. I just hope they catch these criminal really soon before they gain more confidence and start doing it repeatdly.

Missing ulpianus 07 June 2012, 13:55

You may be right.

But I cant but notice how similar the reasoning is here. m14 blamed m8 for the lack of security when they sat on the gov. seats. Now it´s the other way around.

Clearly this government is not 1% better than any other then?

There is another way to go. If it really is thugs from m14, or encouraged by them, why not solving some crimes in order to uncover the plot(s)?

This will continue until one political establishment breaks the chain (of blaming one other). So far, this establishmen is nowhere to see.

F.T. ..... my extended family do nnot have any weapons also (not even a pistol). So stop saying every house in Lebanon is armed.
However, since Hezb insisted on keeping their arms and their arms of their cronies, I can say with certainty that extremists from the Sunnis (Salfis, Jama3at, etc.) are more armed now than they were back in 2005 and 2006. And this can not bode well for Lebanon.
Can I tie politics to rape/murder/kidnapping/crime? Not directly, but I can tie politics to illegal weapons and spread of weapons to crime.... so the connection is there indirectly.
Solution... Disarm all, strengthen the army, ISF and Government institutions so when a crime does hapen you have fewer people committing them and would be easier to solve crimes.

this crime is not political...pls look at the kind of henious crimes occuring in the US/Mexico on a daily basis and come back and post...
pls for god's sake, if a cockroach nest was discovered in a random house in beirut youll find some silly way to twist it into political rivalery
And for those who say "rape and hanged" that is also medieval thinking..they should face trial and yes deserve life in prison

Default-user-icon LebExile (Guest) 07 June 2012, 18:10

this does not have anything to do with politics, and M8 nor M14 should be blamed for it.
Just a question - what were these people doing in the middle of nowhere with 1.5 million lira, isn't that like double the average monthly wage - why have that much money on you when driving in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere?

I'm not blaming the victim here, but, just saying - seems a little fishy.

Secondly, although I dont think that HA are to blame for this - directly or indirectly, I do think that it adds to the case of removing all weapons from society - or as much of it as possible.
Disarm all the camps, HA, all the previous militias and bring out tougher laws on possession of firearms.
