Aoun: Blocking Streets is Useless, Certain Internal Groups Seeking to Sow Chaosإقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية
Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun, said Tuesday that the security events recently witnessed in Lebanon “are not coincidences because there are internal sides contributing to sow chaos,” adding that “blocking roads to protest electric shortages is useless.”
After the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting at Rabiyeh, Aoun said that “the security events taking place are not considered a coincidence because certain sides are seeking to sow chaos in the streets,” warning the Lebanese to be aware of such attempts.
The FPM leader stressed that "blocking streets to protest the electricity shortage is useless,” pointing out that “those who incite people to cut off roads are the ones who cut off money from Electricite Du Liban to implement its projects.”
He said: “If they wanted to demonstrate, I am ready to guide them to the people who suspended electricity projects.”
He added: “Our duty ended when the Ministry of Energy prepared the projects in 2010, and now the government is collectively responsible for securing and allocating funds for the implementation of these projects.”
FPM leader said that “the most humanitarian thing the energy minister did was presenting EDL contract employees with a solution, but their lack of loyalty has led to the collapse of his proposal”.
