Al-Jadeed TV Attacker Released on Bail

The Beirut accusatory body headed by Judge Nada Dakroub on Wednesday decided to release Wissam Alaeddine, the suspect in the attack on al-Jadeed television, on a LBP 2 million bail.
Dakroub had issued an arrest warrant for Alaeddine that expired today. On July 4, she overruled a decision by Beirut Examining Magistrate Judge Ghassan Owaidat to release Alaeddine and keep him under judicial supervision.
Alaeddine is charged with attempted murder and the possession of weapons.
He was one of several gunmen who attacked al-Jadeed television's headquarters in the Beirut neighborhood of Wata el-Msaytbeh in June.
The group opened fire on the building, hurled Molotov bombs and set fire to tires at its entrance.
Alaeddine was detained at the scene after his clothes caught fire.
The attack came after Salafist cleric Sheikh Ahmed al-Assir launched a scathing attack on Hizbullah and AMAL Movement during an interview with the station.
Later on Wednesday, heavy celebratory gunfire erupted near Alaeddine's residence in the Beirut neighborhood of Zoqaq al-Blat. Convoys also roamed several streets in Beirut in celebration of the move.
Political pressure. The result: all these thugs keep roaming on our streets.
$100 says he will jump bail and will never be seen again...
He will probably be joining his 4 STL wanted buddies, and the wanted suspect in Harb's assasination attempt.
Lebanon first
You are right...political pressure on both sides is resulting in thugs being released from jail, left and right.
You have this guy being released by pressure from Hizbullah/Amal
You have Karam released by pressure from FPM.
You have Tripoli weapon's smuggler released by pressure from Mustakbal.
You have multiple Nahr El Bared detainees recently released, by pressure from Mustakbal.
Result: Rule of Law is slowly but surely being eroded, under none other pretext but to "Safeguarding Peace"...What a Mascarade!!!

I beg to differ with your comment as follows:
- this guy has been clearly identified as a perpetrator, thus he is a criminal.
- Karam is a convicted traitor, thus he is a criminal.
- Tripoli smuggler: he was alleged to be a smuggler with no proofs whatsoever.
- Naher el bared: they are criminals who have served more than whatever sentence could be set on them by law, and this is why they are being released.
so basically the ones jeoparding the rule of law are the ones in office supposed to uphold the rule of law, which itself is ironic..
it is like the state is destroying itself from within, which is actually what hizbushaitan wants.
yes they want this to push us towards either accepting their rule or taksim.
from that perspective, I am with taksim as it would be the only alternative for law abiding citizens.
lol you're so biased it's really funny to see you attempting to justify all the mustaqbal's crimes
@ Geha
Twisting things in order to justify/embellish your camp's actions(in this case M14 camp) is typical symptome of "Brainwashing" - "My camp is honest & Just, other camp is evil".
I can argue about the Tripoli Smuggler, who was released by street pressure before the judge was able to carefully address his dossier
But what i won't tolerate is your excuse for releasing Nahr El Bared Criminals...Their heinous crimes should not be forgiven, they should have been sentenced for life instead of being released by pressure from Mustakbal.
Wrong, is wrong...no matter what camp commits it, in this case both camps are usurping the Law for their own gains...both camps are wrong. You should held your camp accountable just like you hold your opponent's camp accountable...or else you are just a brainwashed guy.
@anonymous
there is no twisting of facts on my part :)
- regarding the criminals of nahr el bared that have been "released", and according to judicial information we saw in the news: the maximum these guys would have been sentenced with would have been 2 years less than the period they have already been in jail.
please do check your facts before accusing others of twisting reality :)
Shab
You mean 6'th Saint...
You forgot the Suspect in Harb's assasination attempt...LOL
Ok Geha i admit, i am not very well informed in the Nahr El Bared case, but how could Nahr El Bared criminals, according to your statement above, would have only been sentenced for just 2 years or less...where in the world do you see criminals involved in killing more than 170 army men, and were plotting to blow up Lebanon as we know it, would these offense amount to max 2 years sentencing...Isn't it also Mustakbal interference in Judicial system to lighten their sentence???
i see where you are coming from. and i hate the nahr el bared terrorists more than you. However the ones that were released are just "symphatizers" to fath el islam. They did nothing criminal and yet they stayed 4 yrs in jail. THose on whom we have proof are still in custody.
What a screwed up people ..... we don't deserve an independent country..
When individuals are richer than the state, when individuals have more weapons than the state's armed institutions, what do you expect, a state to function? Lebanon is just getting even more rotten, when we thought that we hit bottom, the M8 government has proven to us that the well is still a lot deeper. The deeper we go, the less we understand.
This is another sad chapter in the books of our failure as lebanese....la w the funny thing is that the day Moqdad'd announced kidnappings and their plans for more police set a checkpoint to monitor if us drivers were wearing seatbelts and helmets. It seems that we individually claimed independance...each to his own. What stops our youth from carrying weapons to protect themselves when neither the security nor judicary forces can protect them? I wont be surprised if the bodygaurd era storms back and people in civilian clothes wander the streets with ak's on their back. Lebanon's spring is ahead...the one that passed was a decoy
No one has the balla to stand up for hiz and his thugs. Once we take over thinga will go back to normal
I wish he were 'accidentally' killed while in custody--better yet, throw him over the fence to Israel and let them deal him. The problem in this country, and especially with this cabinet, is that it lacks the balls to make decisions especially to law and order. Look at the kidnappings, road blockages and random gang violence---nobody is going to jail and staying there.
This country is going nowhere, our judges are partial and politicized... A sad reality. This man shouldn't be released ever...
حكام بلا شرف - قضاة بلا عدل - بلد مرهون للمارقة
حسبي الله ونعم الوكيل
i wonder if moqdad will be back as a hero or put in jail for his bouncing checques.
if they release a criminal in achrafieh or jounieh are we allowed to fire in the air or its life in prison?
Hizballa in action...how can we build a state with these people???
If our forefathers had known how wretched, corrupt, idiotic, arrogant and just plain dumb we would become as a society, they would have never bothered fighting for our independance...the lebanese belong in a zoo..we deserve to be ruled by a dictator...
