Hanadi Nuaimi, who disappeared mysteriously in the northern city of Tripoli two days ago, was freed overnight Wednesday.

Tripoli police arrested the gang that kidnapped the 19-year-old girl under the commands of the head of the gendarmerie, Brig. Gen. Bassam Ayoubi, the National News Agency reported.

On Wednesday night, several roads were blocked with burning tires in the area of al-Tal in Tripoli over the abduction.

Media reports said that the abductors had contacted Nuaimi family demanding them to pay a $20,000 ransom in exchange for her release.

I'm even prouder of the police than our politicized army.

Yo, fangbanger: No my friend, not at all. They need to compete with each other in order to improve perforance. It's healthy. The cat who catches more fish is the best cat, this is a +1 for the police. The army is still waiting to arrest the Moqdad clan for their abductions... waiting for what?

prime and makhaleh, you should do some more reading guys.
2 days ago the army arrested the Bank robbers gang, it's now stoping the fights between the tripoli thugs (Future in Tebeneh and Alawys in Jbal Mehsen) so actually they are doing the real work here. Of course the police is arresting drivers not wearing their seat belts which is also important ;)

Honestly, our law enforcement officers are doing their job pretty well. It is one of the Lebanese institutions that works efficiently. (when allowed). And it is a proof that we CAN build institutions in lebanon.
