Hizbullah on Film Offensive to Islam: Laws Must Be Issued to Incriminate such Acts

Hizbullah slammed on Wednesday the film, “Innocence of Muslims”, that has been deemed offensive to Islam, accusing Jewish and extremist Egyptian Christian Coptic powers of funding it.
It demanded in a statement that laws be issued in order to incriminate such acts similar to laws that condemn antisemitism.
“The screening in the United States of a film that is offensive to Prophet Mohammed is immoral and is of the greatest acts of aggression against human rights that call for the respect of freedom of belief,” it added.
The part said: “The film is a suspicious act aimed at fueling the fires of hate and increase tensions between Muslims and Copts in Egypt in order to drag them towards strife.”
“The screening is the true reflection of the Zionist-American alliance against Muslims and Islam,” noted Hizbullah.
“The American statements of condemnation no longer fool anyone,” it stressed.
It questioned the silence of the Arab League and Organization of the Islamic Conference over the affair.
The screening of the film sparked outrage and violence in Libya and Egypt.
The low-budget movie, "Innocence of Muslims" in which actors have strong American accents, portrays Muslims as immoral and gratuitously violent.
It pokes fun at the Prophet Mohammed and touches on themes of pedophilia and homosexuality, while showing him sleeping with women, talking about killing children and referring to a donkey as "the first Muslim animal."
The film was produced by Israeli-American Sam Bacile, according to the Wall Street Journal, but Egyptian media say that some Egyptian Copts living in the U.S. were involved in the production.
The film is being promoted by controversial Florida pastor Terry Jones, who has drawn protests in the past for burning the Koran and vehemently opposing the construction of a mosque near Ground Zero in New York.

Agree, all that hoopla gave this movie the publicity money can never buy!! freedom of speech is sacred in democracies; HOWEVER Hizbullah has a point when comparing to antisemitism laws.. most of what is said about Islam and Muslims in many European countries, and the US would be punishable by law had the exact same wording been used with word jew (or jewish) instead of Islam or Muslim.
