Hariri Replies to Nasrallah: Lebanon is not an Unmanned Drone

Former PM Saad Hariri stressed on Saturday that “Lebanon is not an unmanned drone”, in reference to the acknowledgment of Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah that his party sent a sophisticated unmanned drone over Israel last week, the An Nahar daily said.

Hariri said: “Everyone must shoulder responsibility. They must understand that Lebanon is not an unmanned plane,” particularly under the current crucial regional circumstances, Hariri told the daily in an interview.

Hariri urged “loyal” Lebanese who care for Lebanon's national interest, sovereignty and security and who refuse to involve Lebanon in the Syrian struggle, to shoulder responsibility towards Lebanon.

Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's acknowledged on Thursday that his party sent a sophisticated unmanned drone over Israel last week, saying the device was built by the Jewish state's arch-foe Iran.

Furthermore, Hariri hailed the stance of President Michel Suleiman with regard saying it “reflects the Lebanese people's deep concern as the result of Hizbullah's actions dragging Lebanon into tactless adventures.”

Sleiman said Friday that: “Sending a drone over enemy territories demonstrates the need for a defense strategy that can organize the capabilities of the resistance in defending Lebanon.”

Unnamed sources close to the President told An Nahar that Suleiman's stance will be put forward on the national table of dialogue expected to be held on the 12th of November.

On the other hand, Al Mustaqbal bloc Deputy Ahmed Fatfat told the daily that “Nasrallah aims to make Lebanon a platform for Iran,” stressing that “responding to Israel's violations is the jurisdiction of the Lebanese army.”

“Hizbullah is trying to drag Israel to a military confrontation and inflame the whole region in a bid to drive the attention away from the crisis in Syria and the role of Hizbullah in the Syrian struggle.”

“Nasrallah wanted to reply to President Suleiman who had previously pointed out that Lebanon is not a platform for anyone. Furthermore he aimed to cancel the role of the Lebanese government and the logic of the defense strategy,” Fatfat said in an interview to Al Liwaa.

I hope every political leader in Lebanon rots in hell...M8 or M14.
They are all useless scumbags with their own agenda. Lebanese people are sheep...they like being told what to do and when to do it...and they are very good at the whole listen and repeat thing. We should be ashamed of ourselves...i know i am ashamed of being Lebanese. A wasted land on useless people.

M8 and its sheep find it perfectly normal that a political party takes the decision of war or peace engaging a whole nation for their sole political interests! they find it perfectly normal...

it proves that all their rhetoric of a strong state is just lies as they encourage a party to be above the laws of the state! they only deserve despite and disgust....

Let's comment on the subject in hand instead of bringing the Islamic or Christian resistance role because both served the country at one point in time during the war 30yrs ago, we are in agreement that Israel is an enemy and we're are all for arming the Leb army with fighter jets to defend our soil from any intrusion BUT it's crystal clear that HA and Nasrallah nowdays are serving Iran and only Iran by trying to drag Lebanon just as in 2006 into another war. What cause are those HA members serving when they die day in and day out? martyrs in Golan? or Sheb3a?
