Suleiman Says Dialogue 'Only' and 'Most Honorable' Way to Confront Problems

President Michel Suleiman stressed on Monday that dialogue is the “only” and “most elevated” way to resolve the current crisis in the country and find a solution for it.
“Dialogue should be based on good intentions and open minds by giving priority to Lebanon's interests,” Suleiman pointed out.
He stated that “it's the only way to safeguard the country against foreign and Israeli threats and its daily violations to U.N. Security Council resolution 1701.”
The president reiterated his calls on Lebanese rival political parties to ponder the “delicate situation that the region is passing through in order to protect the country from any negative repercussions.”
Suleiman is carrying out consultations with Lebanese foes to convince them to resume the national dialogue.
The March 14-led opposition insists on the resignation of the government as a main condition for the resumption of the national dialogue and official activity with their foes, while the March 8 coalition rejects the formation of a new cabinet on allegations that there is no alternative for it.
The assassination of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau head Brigadier General Wissam al-Hasan on October 19 has raised fears about unrest in Lebanon, which is divided between supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar Assad, whose country supervised its small neighbor for nearly 30 years.
The Ashrafiyeh bombing in Beirut that killed Hasan along with two others deepened the gap between the March 14 alliance and the March 8 camp.
Suleiman held talks on Monday with Interior Minister Marwan Charbel at the Baabda Palace, who briefed him on the security situation in the country.
He also tackled the matter with Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji.
dialogue with muderors who hide murderors and refuse to even talk about their illegal weapons, is not a dialogue.
President Sleiman's logic: Talk talk talk... whilst the talker get decimated by the dozen.
That sounds about right. Talk is the only logical way to solve problems.
Only barbarians use violence. Like
1- the killing of Wissam Al Hassan and citizens of Ashrafieh.
2- Like March14 over hyped protesters using violence with Lebanese Security to express themselves.
Whoever uses violence today in Lebanon, are on the loosing team. It's Loud & Clear.
no dialogue with traitors.
and please explain to us how and why aoun is manipulating the judiciary over the hilarious fake attempt on his life?
he desperately needs attention these days?
he is a liar and a traitor.
In 1940's, it was said that a pact was made whereby Christians pledged to give up French protectionism, against Muslims giving up on demands of uniting Lebanon with an Arabic Umma, and that was the Basis upon which Lebanon was born.
It is about time to have a new pact - Shiaa would give up on Iran's protectionism, Hizbullah arms & any plans to install Wilayat El Faqih, against Sunni's pleadge not to follow Saudi Arabia agenda, pursue Shariaa state, or seek revenge & retaliation agaisnt their Shiaa brethern in Lebanon. Both parties will then have to commit to abide by election results, and not seek to incurr retaliatory social or political punishement should they win against the other. The army and ISF will be in charge of making sure that any extremist elements -from either side, seeking to disturb the peace, will be dealt with.
That sounds like a great possible solution. Problem is M8 pretends to want dialogue and to agree to it but then never implements anything. See to M8, negotiations and win/win dialogue is for the birds they only understand force and "my way or the highway". Unfortunate, but true. Wished that it was not so then we would be able to resolve our differences.
Sure, Most Honorable way is fine by me but why does this sound chinese to me? I wonder if China is now involved in Lebanon!! hmmmm
Lahoud when he was president he was passing all his time at ATCL swimming and when he wasnt he was receiving people and smilling , now that he left we got Suleiman with his song : Dialogue ! Ano we cant have a president who has a little bit of guts and do some real work ? Dialogue/Dialogue blabla we are sick of that song , before continuing to dialogue ya Estez Suleiman why dont you begin by applying what you have agreed on in the past sessions of this famous "Dialogue" ?
