Miqati Slams Geagea, Says the Cabinet is for All Lebanese

Sources close to Premier-designate Najib Miqati snapped back at Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Friday saying the new cabinet will be a government for all the Lebanese.

Miqati “waited for the March 14 team around two months to participate in the cabinet and he still calls for the participation of everyone,” the sources told An Nahar daily.

“It is not permissible for a team that voluntarily decided not to participate to say that it’s a one-sided government,” they said. “Surely, this cabinet will be able to follow-up ongoing challenges and solve many problems in the country.”

Geagea warned on Thursday against the formation of a one-sided government and said a technocrat cabinet is the only solution to end the impasse.

The sources stressed that “the cabinet will be for all the Lebanese and not a single team.”

On reports that Miqati’s phone conversation with Suleiman on Wednesday did not end well, the sources said: “This is not true, Miqati informed the president about the result of his consultations and the atmosphere is positive.”

This title is misleading. Miqati did not slam Geagea..."sources" did. however it is true... gaga speaks of a one sided government as wrong, but m14 refused to take part, as hariri threw a tantrum before he packed his bags home to Riyadh, forgetting he still is caretaker pm

Yet another proof that M14 wants all the power or nothing. They don't want to share, and as a result they are out.

Mr. Geagea is correct. it is going to be a one sided government and I am thankful that M14 is not going to participate. Remember what happened when Hizb and its allied were part of the M14 govt...their behavior was DISCUSTING and anti Lebanese. Let HIZB and its allies govern if they can (6 months and counting what a JOKE). Sheikh Saad is a caretaker pm true but he's most likely disgusted with the back stabbing and double standards. M8 will fall apart soon after Assad regime does...mark my words...long live Lebanon and all Lebanese.

Mowaten, I also see how the political bickering will lead us nowhere, but just to be fair, when armed men went to the streets (by account of both political spectrums) when a certain political figure didn't switch sides, and "forced" him to switch sides, it might not be called a military coup but it certainly isn't democracy as well.
