President Michel Suleiman is waiting for Premiere-designate Najib Miqati’s cabinet lineup to express his opinion about it and to add his share of ministers, An Nahar newspaper reported on Saturday.

“Suleiman told the two Khalils on Thursday (Speaker Nabih Berri's advisor MP Ali Hasan Khalil and Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's advisor Hussein Khalil) that he will not announce any name before he examines the final draft of the formation,” the newspaper said.

Presidential circles told As Safir newspaper Saturday that the president is “waiting for the cabinet reshuffle from Miqati to discuss and agree upon it together, so they can issue the decrees.”

Circles said that blaming the president for the delay in the cabinet formation for not providing yet the sixth Maronite candidate is not accurate.

It “reflects the ignorance of the simplest constitutional rules and the role of the presidency,” they told the newspaper.

Circles noted that the president will reveal the names of the Maronite and Orthodox candidates he chooses at the last minute.

“He will not announce the two names before issuing the cabinet formation decree,” they stressed.

Meanwhile, al-Manar television unveiled that Fadi Martinos is one of the president’s candidates for the new government.
