Jumblat: Only National Dialogue Capable of Preventing Strife

Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat has said that only national dialogue among the country’s political factions would prevent the country from “sliding into strife.”

In remarks to As Safir daily on Monday, Jumblat said: “After the drafting of the cabinet policy statement we should return to the national dialogue table which alone could protect us from the slide into strife and turmoil.”

The Druze leader told the newspaper that the all-party talks should be aimed at discussing all controversial issues.

“As for the arms of the resistance, discussion on how to absorb them in the state should come at the appropriate time after the liberation of the land from Ghajar and all the way to Shebaa and Kfarshouba,” Jumblat said.

While he said that the authorities were able to contain the deadly clashes between Alawites and Sunnis in the northern port city of Tripoli, the situation remains fragile.

Another idiotic statement we hear from Walid Jumblat. The Liberation of ghagar and shebaa farms can only be accomplished by civilized negotiations, just as what Eygpt and Jordan accomplished. If you think that Hiabullah is capable of liberating it, then explain to the public how come after all these years they have not done so. These thugs occupied and killed lebanese nationals and not the Israelies in May 7 few years ago, you already forgot that Mr. Jumblat? Stop fooling the public with your shallow statements because you are no more capable of fooling and misleading the Lebanese public including your own. You have done enough damage by flip flopping and betraying the Cedar's revolution. Your own people follow you not because you are a political genius, they do it to preserve the legacy of Kamal Jumblat who was murdered by those you periodically kiss their hands.

There is nothing called national dialogue anymore , after what they did in Tripoli .
The resistance will never give away its arms , as long as there is one single Palestinian left on the Lebanese soil ! Ghajar is not the problem .. What they did in Naher el Bared , and yesterday in Tripoli , shows that they have a hidden agenda for Lebanon , and we will not let that happen .
Lebanon is in very good hands today and under control by all means ..

For those who are betting on a regime change in Syria , let them dream near Saad hariri in Paris , at least there , they can see the Effel Tower from thye hotel where he is staying , the Plaza Athénée ..

Mr Junblat should remember what his eminence Sheikh Naiim Qassem said last year "the weapons of the resistance stay even if the Zionist threat is gone". The arms of the resistance are not here to liberate anything but they serve another purpose altogether, we need them to help accomplish the Islamic Republic of Lebanon because, as Sayed Hassan said "an Islamic government is the only way to bring stability to a society" anyone who can't stomach that should go back to Europe, Jabal el Druze, KSA or wherever hell else they came from.

Dialog helps. But only the hanging of those (Hariri, Saniora, Soaid, Geagea, Kabbara, Alloush, Fatfat, Al Jouzou...) who preach strife will definitely prevent it. Down with the terrorist Sunni Salafis, Wahhabis and so-called Hariri Christian Sunnis.

@ Le Phenicien....If Lebanon is in good hands, why havent you come back to Lebanon yet???? You mock Saad Hariri being in Paris but you've been there longer than him.

Change will happen...its inevitable! if it wasnt for change, you would be still flying pigeons as a means of communication.

As for Jumblat...his flip flop shallow talk will always reoccur, its in the Druze religion to be with the "7ayt Al Waqif" all the time. (Example: The Palestinian Druze are in the IDF)

if the hizb is resisting against israel why are they dugging tunnels in the chouf which is under control of joumblatt?

as for fabrice calling for murder means that you aounists are no better than the ones you used to combat and now are friends with! don t forget what your puppet used to call the hizb and syria before he received millions of persian dollars....
if you call for murder it means that you are not a christian but just like those salafi extremists or al qaida!

Yalla Mehdi and mowaten , come transform Lebanon into an islamic republic, but remember Lebanon is not Haifa or Tel aviv, and Ain el Rummaneh , Zahlé, Ashrafieh, Bcharré, Jounieh , Keserwan is not Tarik Jdide, you were able to defeat sunnis, that are unexperienced , but come to our christian neighboorhoods, we will remind you a bit how we shoped like porks Syrians and Palestinians for dinner, just tell us when , so we can throw a big barbecue fest :) and please do not forget your big fat pig and cowardly '' leader '' , sayyed Hassouni, it might be the only occasion he will have to see the light after 2006, it hard living in Dahieh sewers and breading among insects and worms, in fact he has having dinner with Zionist yesterday, and had to play 007 to catch them and call his israeli friends tell them he is very disappointed they do not trust him anymore to undermine alone lebanon's security and prosperity.

national dialogue with a gun pointed at your head is not a dialogue but a hezbi monologue....
