Sidon Clashes Cause Power Outage across Lebanon

Most regions in Lebanon plunged into darkness on Sunday as a result of the ongoing clashes in the southern city of Sidon.

“The Zahrani-Aramoun line broke down as a result of Sidon’s clashes,” Electricite du Liban said in a released statement, explaining that the line might have been hit during the fights.

EDL pointed out: “The technical team was unable to reach the location and fix the problem due to the security situation.”

“The Zahrani power plant was disconnected from the main electricity network, which lead to other plants to disconnect from al-Zahrani.”

EDL said the technical teams are currently working on linking the plants back to the main network.
