Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Rokn-Abadi announced on Wednesday that he had agreed with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun to support the resistance against the 'Zionist agendas in the region.”

He said after holding talks with the MP at Rabieh: “We also agreed to support Syria's people, government, and leadership.”

“We stand by the people's will to implement reform led by President Bashar Assad,” he added.

Addressing local developments, the ambassador stressed Iran's keenness on Lebanon's security and the people's support of the resistance.

“All sides are the victims of the Israeli agenda aimed at spreading strife throughout the world, especially in the Middle East,” Abadi remarked.

Informed by reporters after the meeting that his visit comes a day after Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awadh Asiri held talks with Aoun, he responded that his visit to the MP was scheduled a week ago.

Abadi and Aoun also discussed the recent presidential election in Iran.

Aoun was recently asked in a newspaper interview if he was seeking to reconsider his ties with Hizbullah, to which he replied: “Relations are reconsidered when they become very strained.”

Aoun meets with the Saudi ambassador and then the Iranian. He seems to be taking bids from competitors. He auctions to the highest bidder the Lebnese government, nation and people who will follow him blindly. Behold the prostitute himself in action. At least with prostitutes they sell something that is theirs, Aoun sells that which is not his.

Yes but to be fair he is not alone doing this. All our glorious leaders have shady deals all the time. This is why we the people need to stop bickering amongst ourselves and remove them all from power. I am all for a new class of politicians who are not pro at stealing and dividing the country.

What a slave Aoun is. Come on FT, can't wait for your lame attempt at humour or to try and counter something someone says.

Lets see if you can actually support Aouns stance here.

Aoun is talking to the iranian and the saudi ambassador because it is useless to talk to nasrallah and hariri. Nasrallah's decisions are dictated by khamenei and hariri is miles away, closer to bandar than to lebanon.

Hence the people who can decide are more the iranian and the saudi ambassadors than the HA milicia chief or the eternal exilee.

@l_f I normally disagree with your posts, however above is good deductive reasoning on your part. It is possible the man is talking to both sides to avoid the Christian from falling victims in the middle.

iranians told hezbis to do whatever it takes to back the syrian army... they cannot afford assad to fall, as simple as that... so all the BS from hezbis pretending to defend lebanon are just food for their sheep.....

There will be no reform you piece of Farsi garbage. The only way out of this is your murderer friend Bashar will have a similar fate as Ghadafi, Saddam or Mossilin.. That is the only way reform will come. Hopefully soon a few bombs to Iran's nuclear and Iran will come back to earth.. I have to say I was not impress with these Farsis during the Iran-Iraq war.. They simply sucked!!
