Alleged Rapprochement between Aoun and Hariri after Asiri's Visit

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun and al-Mustaqbal movement chief ex-PM Saad Hariri have recently had “indirect contacts,” FPM sources confirmed on Saturday.

The sources also confirmed reports about ties between Rabieh and al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc chief MP Fouad Saniora.

The development in the relations between the foes came in the aftermath of a visit that Saudi Ambassador Ali Awadh Asiri made to Aoun earlier in the month, they said.

The reported rapprochement included talks about a possible visit by Aoun to Paris for a meeting with Hariri, the sources told al-Akhbar daily. But sources close to the former premier denied such a move.

Despite the denial, Aoun's sources stressed that any contact between the two parties would not come at the expense of the FPM chief's ties with Hizbullah.

Aoun has informed the Hizbullah leadership about the alleged rapprochement with al-Mustaqbal and Saudi Arabia, the sources said.

Aoun is loosing ground with his constituents because of hizbulla. He needs a new aly to secure his position with the Christians who are increasingly finding out, slowly but surely... How big of an idiot he really is... Idoit with an attitude = psycho . I think the general would greatly benefit from some lithium pills and schlock therapy

The real reason behind all this nonsense is that Aoun's trusted financial adviser (Son-in-Law #1) panicked when the Iranian's officially cut the value of the rial in half... the ex-general is now looking for greener pastures.

Aoun if you are planing to make another Paris run... please put on a pair of pants this time!

Aoun met with the Saudis and accepted their suitcase full of money... in return of favours. what a sellout this troufion is. He goes to the highest bidder... I hope Bachar will break his wrist and his neck just like he broke Hariri's a few months before he ordered Hezbollah to assassinate him.

Very well said. I can't understand how people can show more commitment (sometimes total commitment) to their leaders (Za3ims) than to the nation.
I don't like to be dictated by someone to tell me what he thinks is right or wrong. We should have the clear mind to be able to think by ourselves of what's good for our nation.
I can't follow FPM and nor LF and most of the time, I resent them both. I like Sami Gemayel a lot but that's as far as I will go because when he makes a mistake, I won't stand by him. But he's got my vote for now.

Of course after the Saudis filled his pockets with cash just like they have been with geagea. The Iranian money to the hizballah is drying up because their focus is on Syria now so aoun is feeling the poverty so he must turn to another source of income. Man I love Lebanon and its so called leaders.
