Salam: Precondition Toppling Cabinet Formation Efforts

Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam stressed on Thursday that he is seeking not to let down the Lebanese people and swiftly form his cabinet, despite the mounting conditions set by the rival parties.

“The formation of the government requires more attention and continuous efforts,” Salam told reporters after talks with President Michel Suleiman at the Baabda Palace.

He expressed fear over the ongoing vacuum in the executive power, which has a negative impact on the situation in the country.

“All options are open,” Salam said.

The official noted that the preconditions are delaying the formation of his government.

“I won't change my stances that are based on my convictions, I am keen to deal with the rival parties according to them,” he added.

Salam is seeking to form a cabinet divided equally between the Lebanese foes and the centrists and rejects to grant the veto power to any party.

As far as I am concerned, Salam is gone, finished, caput now that he has not formed a cabinet as of last Friday, the ultimatum day given to him by our Grand Doc of Art 7akeh, yes, you guessed it, who else but Dr. Arreet 7akeh himself? As a refresher to the doc's followers, aka Drs. Arteena Satleh, the Assad regime MIGHT still fall in 2013, which means that there are just a little under 5 and a half months left in the life of that regime. To this, Drs. Arteena Satleh can be observed rubbing their hands to the point of generating sparks. wlak min addak ya 7ak...awati ya malak art el 7akeh?

So this benign comment got, as of now, two thumbs down. I am amazed at the dwindling number of idiots! You go, FT.
