Home Fire in Kfar-Remman Leaves 2 Syrian Children Dead

Two children were killed and one was hospitalized after a fire broke out in the house of a Syrian family seeking refuge in Kfar-Remman, the state-run National News Agency reported on Friday.

The fire broke out Thursday evening in the house of Ali Amin Rizk where the said family lives, leading to the death of Ahmad Hassoun, 3, and his four-year-old sister Mona from smoke inhalation.

Their brother Mahmoud Hassoun was injured in the incident. He was rushed to the Nabih Berri's hospital in Nabatieh.

The children were alone at home when an electricity cut prompt them to light up a candle and their mattress caught fire, according to reports.

The Internal Security Forces opened an investigation into the accident.

It is illegal to leave 3 and 4 years old children alone at home.
Parents should be punished
