Three judges from the Special Tribunal for Lebanon handed over to General Prosecutor Saeed Mirza on Thursday a copy of the indictment in ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s assassination case.

The indictment urges Lebanese authorities to issue arrest warrants against four Lebanese that are close to Hizbullah, media reports said.

According to the reports, the suspects are Salim Ayyash, Hassan Issa, Assad Sabra and Mustafa Badreddine, who is known as Sami Issa. He is the relative of Hizbullah’s slain military commander Imad Mughniyeh.

The reports said that Ayyash is the leader of the network that planned and executed Hariri’s Feb. 2005 assassination.

The findings of the tribunal had been for months the subject of wide speculation in Lebanon and there was fear that accusation of Hizbullah members of involvement in Hariri’s murder could spark sectarian unrest.

The STL, the first international court with jurisdiction over the crime of terrorism, opened its doors in Leidschendam, near The Hague, on March 1, 2009.

STL President Antonio Cassese wrote in an annual report in March that he hoped the court would start at least pre-trial and some trial proceedings this year.

By March this year, the office of the prosecutor has conducted 150 missions and 430 interviews and set 750 requests for assistance to Lebanon's prosecutor Mirza.

Lebanon, according to experts, now has 30 days to serve out the arrest warrants. If the suspects are not arrested within that period, the STL will then make public the indictment and summon the suspects to appear before the court.

What goes around, comes around...Hopefully, justice will prevail... My thoughts are with Gebran, Pierre, Georges, Rafik, Lies, Marwan, May, and all the others...

Who gave the order to assassinate ??
Who benefited most from Hariri elimination ??
Is it possible that the accused acted alone, outside the structure of Hizballah or were they carrying out an assassination contract issued by a foreign country ??
There are a number of scenarios and many unanswered questions. However, the truth will prevail and the identity of the party who gave the order to eliminate Hariri will become apparent.
STL should seek answers to the numerous unsolved investigations in Lebanon, including Gibran TWEINI's Assassination.
Who benefited the most from silencing Hariri, Tweini Qassir among many others ??

Regardless of who did it, they deserve the highest level of appreciation from the decent Lebanese people and the ultimate medal of honor for a job well done. They rid us of two filths: Rafik Hariri and the Syrian occupation. BRAVO!

No honest or innocent person would be afraid to defend themselves in a court of law so I am sure we will see Hizbullah cooperate fully with this request.

4 new stars and 4 new Heroes are born today .

If this is true , we should protect them , and the highest merite and official Lebanese decoration , should be officially given to them by the president of the Republic , because they saved Lebanon from the beast that wanted to swallow all the country and make all it's people as servants and slaves , to the Al Saoud family .

It's a bit of a disappointment. The U.N. "blamed it" on a Lebanese group after everybody blamed Syria.

Every Lebanese knows that Hezbollah does not concern itself with killing Prime Ministers, it has Always been against Israel.

That document should have Solid, uncontested real Solid proof of why the names mentioned were included.

I am disappointed, cause it doesn't make sense. Even for such a world authority such as the U.N.,a generation will regard this international body as a Sham!

Gimmeh those Solid proofs...gimmeh proofs that are more convincing than the ones Hezbollah gave.... We've een paying up to our teeth for these proof!

Missing peace 30 June 2011, 15:36

i m sure anonym that the proofs will be given in due time. like every trial they are showed during the trial not before.
i m sure also they have reserved the biggest part for later when we will see which state ordered these murders...
syria....or iran?

Missing peace 30 June 2011, 15:38

le phenicien you treat as heroes people who are suspected of killing lebanese?
not just hariri was killed but also passers by who have nothg to do with politics!!!

shame on you to approve the killings of innocents you murderer...

it seems you are just an israeli agent, just here to vomit your hatred. poor you go and get checked and eat a lollipop it will calm you....

@ Peace ,

Rafik Hariri was not Lebanese , just like his son Saad .

FYI , You cannot be Saudi citizen and hold another nationality !! They are Saudis and nothing else .

For the others that were killed by accident because they were there ! that's what we call " collateral damages " ya habibé .

Missing startrip 30 June 2011, 17:07

I'm not surprised at the proclamation by Hezbollah apologists that the four assassins are "heroes." They inadvertently reveal what is becoming quite apparent - that they are the killers.

I agree with those who rightfully ask about who ordered the killing. My guess is this will be determined when the Assad regime falls and the rats jump off the ship.

Default-user-icon Pacifier (Guest) 01 July 2011, 08:41

You are right Le Phénicien, the others killed with Hariri, thus the innocent civilians are what we call collateral damage, just like the hundreds of soldiers of GMA that were brutally murdered by Emile Lahoud, Jamil el Sayed, and the Syrians ( your allies now ), as they were providing cover for you hero GMA that was running at a stunning speed of 120km/h to the french embassy, thus braking the record of a cheetah.
