Geagea: Govt. Should Follow up on STL’s Functioning, Abandoning it Treason against Martyrs

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea stated on Thursday that the indictment in the murder case of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri paves the way for a fair trial before the Lebanese, Arab, and international public.

He said before reporters: “The new government should follow up on the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s functioning and its abandonment is treason against the martyrs and all Lebanese.”

“All the explosions that have taken place were aimed at halting the tribunal’s functioning,” he added.

“If the government believes that we have wronged it, then it should follow through with the arrest warrants issued in the Hariri indictment and all the tribunal’s demands as stipulated in the cooperation protocol signed with the Lebanese cabinet,” he stressed.

The identity of the accused is not a reflection on the sect, party, or country he belongs to, Geagea stated.

The indictment should not cause negative repercussions in Lebanon, but it should instead ease tensions, he noted.

I repeat what i always say: this Man, samir Gea Gea is a CRIMINAL himself. He was convicted, and locked up. Maybe he would grace the airwaves and shut upo, as he belongs in jail along with those who killed hariri.. maybe someone should sue this man in the Hague.

he was convicted in a tribunal, now a tribunal is near convicting other people. why do you believe one and not the other, before even seeing the evidence of the other?

ya mazen, can you please explain why you consider Geagea to be a criminal. He served 11 years in jail that was based strictly on a political decision by syria and its Lebanese cronies because he refused to go along with their agenda of occupation and hegemony. And what makes Berri, Jumblat, Nassralah, and all other war chieftains any different. They all had their roles in the war and did a lot of nasty things. But while Geagea was unjustly in jail, these other guys were allowed to roam the streets of Lebanon and balloon their bank accounts.

You need to look at these issues in a logical way without allowing your emotions to influence what comes out of your mouth.

Looking ahead, I guarantee you that someone like Geagea is our only hope of not allowing Lebanon to be swallowed by the likes of iran, syria and isreal. So take your chill pill and brush up on your lebanese history, you may be surprised of what you can learn.

Geagea and Aoun killed more christians than Alqaeda killed Musloms, they both have a high score of killing their own people, just like the Syrian Assad regime and the Zionist regime illusion, creating difficult situation for the Jewish interest in the middle east including Hezbollah hate wars hijacking Lebanon into regional war. The region in need for change by puting these criminals to trial. Mr. Geagea, what about your best man Alrasi who used to kill any christian in his way or what about your relative in your home town killing each other for decades. Lebanon best economey and peace when Aoun was in France and Geagea was in Jail.

For God sake, March 8th some respect to the dead! You are really such a bad losers! Don't think if you stole the power by force, you can do something about the tribunal! Thank God it's an international non-biased entity.
Dear Martyrs, rest in peace. Pierre Gemayel we love you and we will NEVER forget you!!!!!!!!!!!! There are still good people in Lebanon!

hakim was the only warlord convicted by a syrian tribunal and spent 11 years in jail, only if u can call his syrian conviction a "tribunal".
now he is the only hope for lebanese christians to get out of"waraket el tafahoum" with criminals.
IT'S NOT A JOKE ANYMORE

I am amazed how many people have no values or manners in lebanon. The guy gets blown and killed then many follow him and all we hear from March 8 for the last years is hatred and hatred , they have no respect to humans. I cant understand them.

You differ in your opinions, Fine. but some manners please in your language, dont insult dead people that are martyr's for many!

Missing peace 30 June 2011, 22:07

sasi , all they do ( supporters of m8) is hide behind weapons and bark like chiwawas behind their master s legs. they have no respect for life, nor democracy. all they want is low revenge.
they are not even afraid of calling more than half lebanon sionists because they don t share their point of view. see the intelligence!
it is exactly the same culture of street gangs and thugs who believe they are the strongest because they have weapons to replace something lacking ...

but ask them to justify their statements, you ll find no one! sign of a lack of thinking: normal, they just repeat what their leaders say!

small example: they ask to trial the people that have stolen money from the gvt: but only from m14, have you read only once them asking to trial all those who have stolen, m14 AND m8 included?? proof they want revenge not justice!
NO....
they just want division and civil war to get away from their responsabilities
