General Security Circulates Pictures of Terror Suspects, Confirms Arrest of Three

The General Directorate of General Security on Monday circulated the pictures of two suspects accused of forming a “terrorist network” that was allegedly plotting to detonate the explosive-laden car that was discovered Saturday in Naameh.

“An Audi car containing 250 kilograms of explosives was seized in the Naameh area on August 17,” the directorate confirmed in a statement.

“Lebanese national T. B. T. and the Palestinians A. H. S., aka Abu Youssef, and his brother Kh. H. S. are being held at the directorate on charges of forming a terrorist network, conducting acts of sabotage in the country, and plotting to stage a bomb attack through the seized car,” it added.

The directorate said the rest of the network's members are on the run, identifying two of them as “Lebanese national Mohammed Qassem al-Ahmed, born in Beirut in 1983 and a resident of Haret al-Naameh, and Lebanese national Saeed Mohammed Bahri, born in Beirut in 1985 and a resident of Dawhat Aramoun.”

The General Security circulated pictures of the two men, urging all citizens who spot them to report to the nearest General Security post or dial 01/612401. It promised that the identities of those who submit information will remain confidential.

On Saturday, a car filled with 250 kilograms of explosives was discovered near the municipality building in Naameh.

The car carried a fake license plate and contained five boxes of TNT, an unidentified explosive substance, fuses and a device for remote detonation.

Security information revealed on Monday that some members of the car bombing ring detained on Sunday are supporters of Islamist cleric Ahmed al-Asir, according to the As Safir daily.

Later on Monday, Asir himself, on the run since the deadly Abra battle, appeared in an audio recording in which he said that the bombing that hit the Beirut southern suburb of Ruwais on Thursday was a “normal result” of Hizbullah's military intervention in Syria.

How come we still haven't got pictures for The martyr Pierre Gemayel, Samir Kassir, Gebran Tueni, or Rafic Hariri not to mention the others on this long list hit by hezbollahi terrorism?

It’s clear that Hariri no longer has any connection with this country. On the point of national consensus, we have to ask Hariri the following:

– Based on what consensus was he able to rob property owners in downtown Beirut to create a real estate monster called Solidere?

– What about the privatization of the mobile phone sector and the embezzlement of millions in funds intended for national reconstruction after the civil war?

– And who was it that accused Syria – and then Hezbollah – of assassinating Rafik Hariri, then establishing an international tribunal partly funded from the national treasury? Did he have national consensus to do all this?

– Do Hariri’s current attempts to carry out Saudi wishes to form a government without Hezbollah and get an extension for President Michel Suleiman have the blessings of the Lebanese people?

I'm quite pleased with the recent enhancement of our intelligence agencies' aptitude in dealing with national threats and terrorism. They've been remarkably vigilant and diligent.

Though I still have certain fear of things to come.

Thumb Senescence 19 August 2013, 20:06

"no wonder that as soon as rifi was removed, the internal intelligence got noticably better!"

I don't know much about Rifi, but your statement seems to be very accurate indeed.

Couldnt agree more FT. The Al Qaeda sympathizing drones have yet to figure it out.

Only two types of crimes are ever solved in Lebanon:

1. Crimes against Shias
2. Crimes not perpetrated by Hezbollah

A large majority of crimes are solved thru phone records, and M8 controls phone record data. M8 won't release the phone records for Hezbollah perpetrated crimes, only on crimes when Shias are victims.

When hizzie crimes were uncovered thru phone records, you say the phone records were corrupted by israelis. Hypocrite you are.

If this is the case how come the two turkish pilots cannot be found and released. They have been kidnapped in a hizbullah tightly controlled area and latest report say that one is in Baalbeck and the other in the south.

These two terrorists are the long-time bloggers on Naharnet who go by the noms de guerre benzona and banima3roof... One word of advice re. these two warriors: they are extremely dangerous as they are armed with a long tongue and carry a ball of explosive dung between their shoulders, atop of which are two overgrown conic objects that look like mule ears. wa qad ou3zira man anzara. takbir

I'm not here to defend anyone, but clearly both you have short term memories, since the internal intelligence under rifi had uncovered 100's of israeli networks and many more achievements, but on the political assassinations, hezbollah never cooperated.. Now when its targetting them they are cooperating and doing the investigations themselves and they catching them, wish they had done the same for m14.

I wish they were as efficient in arresting those who killed Hariri (the four Saints!), Tueini, Gemayel, Wissam Eid, Wissam El Hassan, attempted to murder Harb and could not be arrested, etc.....I wish they identified those who kidnapped Joseph sader, the turkish pilots too, at a stone throw from the army checkpoint !

Default-user-icon Truth (Guest) 19 August 2013, 21:19

There are far more terror suspects than those shown on the pictures above! Top of the list is Khamenei, Nasrallah's master. Then number two, would be his local puppet !

Any nationality or religious belief that tries to cause murder innocent people deserve to hang. Whether the perps are Shia, Sunni, Druze, Christians or Jews they need to be executed. Anyone who can justify killing innocent people just to make a point or to cause anarchy and sectarian strife has to be beyond rehabilitation.

Catch the rat(head of snake), as the country will not rest in peace and will remain at war as long as he is alive. Do not worry about Aoun as he is similar to Jumblat in politics, he is with A on Tuesday and against it by Sunday.
