Pope Francis at Prayer Vigil Says War 'Defeat for Humanity'

Pope Francis called for reconciliation and dialogue in Syria on Saturday as he led a mass vigil for peace in the war-torn country.
"In beloved Syria, in the Middle East, in all the world, let us pray for reconciliation and peace, let us work for reconciliation and peace," the pope said.
"War always marks the failure of peace, it is always a defeat for humanity."

Walla, a long way since the crusades for the Vatican. Sure, War is a defeat for humanity.... Ma khtalafna, but the butcher isn't going to stop killing tens of thousands of opposants every year by praying.
The pope should call Assad, ask him to step down and accept judgement. That's ALL he's got to do. No bloodshed, nothing.... Just a phone call. I'm willing to pay the phone bill.

May be if his supporters, Iran, H.A. and Russia take time off, pray and come to the realization that the Al-Assad regime is not worth all senseless killings, I think our prayers would be answered. Re. the Vatican and its ties with the Crusaders, that tells you religion in the wrong hands, leads to crusaders, Islamists, Salafists, Iranian Mullah types and Al-Qaeda, etc.

I believe in dialogue and appreciate his comments; however, I also wonder hoe people can be so naive about peace, as if it just spontaneously happens. It doesn't. It's earned.
It also easy for others, especially the Lebanese, to sit back complacently when Syrians are being slaughtered, in some cases by our own countrymen.
It's time for us to clean house, starting with the traitors in our own backyard. I hope the US hits the Butcher and his HA friends.

I thought you must prove" BEYOND A REASONBLE DOUBT " in Court before you send someone to the Gallows or Capital Punishment ! Even then , how many have been sentenced to death innocently? How many on death row have so far been found not Guilty & released due to DNA ?

It's called a balance of probabilities or beyond a reasonable doubt. Even if its on camera or there are phone records, we are well familiar with how HA and the Assad regime can dodge accountability. Or should we start listing all the evidence of massacres, assassinations, etc. or the dodgy record of denying first and admitting later I.e defending Lebanese in Syrian villages to becoming a legitimate .... Occupying force. Get a life or a new signature wolf.

Actually, no. Gitmo is a great example. Others include the half a dozen detention facilities around the Middle East.
They now go by 'strong confidence' as in, confidence it's beyond reasonable doubt, so, reasonably reasonable doubt. Ugh, they get more contrived by the day.

Gitmo ! That is called " Collective Kidnapping " by a Sovereign UN member state called the USA !
The only other filthy state that does this is Israel . But it shall be not underestimated that you do unto others as you wish others to do upon you ! That shall be done , in due time of course , that time is Now !
