Four Lebanese soldiers were wounded on Friday in a traffic accident in the Baalbek district in the Bekaa valley, reported the National News Agency.

It said that their black Honda skidded off the international road in al-Safri region as a result of the slippery conditions caused by the storm and snow.

Ziad Khaled Abou Esper, 16, was apparently released after the security forces’ frequent raids in the Baalbek area forced the kidnappers to let him go, reported NNA.

Baalbek Teen Kidnapping Draws Condemnation

A teenager was still being held hostage by his kidnappers on Saturday, three days after they abducted him from his father’s ranch in the Baalbek district, asking for a $150,000 ransom.

The National News Agency reported Friday that the three-member gang kidnapped 16-year-old Ziad Khaled Abou Esber from the cow ranch that lies in Adous valley on Wednesday night.

Zoaiter Brothers Killed in Hadath Baalbek Shooting

Two brothers from the Zoaiter family were killed on Saturday after another member of their clan opened fire on their vehicle in the area of Hadath Baalbek in eastern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.

It said the son of Ali Hussein Khalil Zoaiter opened fire on the Grand Cherokee of Ahmed Sobhi Zoaiter, 27, and his brother Hussein, 35, severely injuring them.

Two people were killed in a clash between Jaafar and Rifai Families in Sharawineh Neighborhood in Baalbak on Thursday.

According to NNA, a person from Jaafar family was shot dead as youths from his family were trying to kidnap a youth from Rifai family in Sharawinah neighborhood in Baalbek, while a ten year old child was killed by stray bullets.

Internal Security Drug Control Force Ambushed in Baalbeck

Unknown assailants opened fire on Monday at policemen from the Drug Control Office of the Internal Security Forces as it was preparing to destroy cannabis fields in al-Olaiq village in the eastern city of Baalbeck.

The National News Agency reported that the “force and the tractors that accompanied it came under an armed ambush after unknown assailants opened fire at it.”
