Some 300 people rallied on Saturday to remember 17,000 people who disappeared during Lebanon's civil war, and called for action on behalf of the victims' families, organizers and participants said.

March 14 Protesters Re-Block Grand Serail Road after Security Forces Attempt to Reopen it

The security forces reopened on Friday the road facing the Grand Serail in downtown Beirut after it was blocked by a March 14-led opposition sit-in, reported the daily An Nahar on Saturday.

Soldier Wounded in Shooting in Front of ISF Intelligence Bureau Chief's Residence

A soldier was wounded on Wednesday in a shooting in front of the Beirut residence of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau head Imad Othman, reported LBCI television.

It said that two assailants riding on a motorcycle opened fire at an ISF patrol in front of Othman's residence in Beirut's Qasqas neighborhood.

Report: ISF Detains Nigerian Man Who Was Monitoring MP Mashnouq's Mother's House

The Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau arrested on Saturday a Nigerian national who was allegedly monitoring the Beirut residence of the mother of Mustaqbal bloc MP Nouhad al-Mashnouq, reported al-Liwaa newspaper on Wednesday.

An informed security source told the daily that the Nigerian man was a detained in Beirut's Caracas neighborhood where, according to witnesses, he had been monitoring Mashnouq's mother's building from a nearby building for a couple of days.

March 14 Protesters Form Human Chain from Martyrs Square to Grand Serail

Youth and student groups from the March 14 coalition on Sunday marked ten days since the assassination of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau head Maj. Gen. Wissam al-Hasan.

Demonstrators in downtown Beirut formed a human chain that stretched from the Martyrs Square to the Grand Serail, carrying Lebanese flags and banners condemning the assassination and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Miqati's government.

Army Arrests Malaysians Plotting to Carry out Terror Attacks in Lebanon

Army Intelligence succeeded in arresting suspects on charges of belonging to the al-Qaida terrorist organization, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper on Thursday.
