Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc vowed Tuesday to continue the dialogue with Hizbullah despite what it described as the party's “threats and provocations.”

“We fully support the document's content and it is a national document that can be considered a roadmap for holding onto coexistence,” the bloc said after its weekly meeting, referring to the closing statement of the conference held Saturday by the March 14 forces.

The Change and Reform parliamentary bloc on Tuesday called for continuing the dialogues that are underway between a number of parties away from some “rogue voices,” noting the rival March 14 camp is trying to make up for its “losses” through the formation of a national council.

“Any remarks that take us backwards under various alibis are not beneficial and all rogue voices must be silenced,” the bloc said after its weekly meeting in Rabieh in a statement recited by former minister Salim Jreissati.

A number of ministers noted on Tuesday that the role of the cabinet “will remain crippled” in light of the presidential vacuum.

The so-called “consultative gathering” urged after talks at former President Michel Suleiman's residence Prime Minister Tammam Salam “to continue with his methodology in taking government decisions.”

A Lufthansa plane was forced to return to Beirut's Rafik Hariri International Airport on Tuesday after a flock of birds caused damaged to one of its engines, reported the National News Agency.

It said that flight 1307, which had departed the airport at 4:48 a.m., was forced to return three minutes after takeoff.

Hizbullah and Iran are no longer enrolled on a U.S. list of terror threats, according to an annual report by the U.S. National Intelligence that was delivered to the Senate.

Hizbullah and Tehran, which comprise along with Syria and other organizations the “axis of resistance” that oppose Israel and Western policies in the Middle East, have exerted efforts to combat the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

March 14 alliance lawmakers boycotted a meeting for the joint parliamentary committees on Tuesday to protest a decision for Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan to chair the session.

There was no lack of quorum despite the boycott.

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun held talks on Tuesday with Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat at his residence in Clemenceau.

The two officials held a bilateral meeting behind closed doors.

Fighters linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in the Syrian al-Qalamoun are reportedly mobilizing and moving closer to the border with Lebanon ahead of a battle along the country's eastern border.

Lebanese and Syrian security sources said in comments published on Tuesday in al-Akhbar newspaper that ISIL fighters are moving “from eastern al-Qalamoun to its west” in preparation for a battle in the area in the spring after the snow melts.

Ministers refused on Tuesday to comment on the possible extension of the terms of high-ranking security officials, citing the delicate situation that the country is passing through.

Defense Minister Samir Moqbel refused to comment to As Safir newspaper on the thorny matter, saying: “I will not enter in any political rhetoric amid the current circumstances, which everyone realizes their sensitivity.”

Speaker Nabih Berri has said he holds onto the dialogue between Hizbullah and al-Mustaqbal movement despite the latest exchange of accusations between the two parties' officials.

Al-Liwaa daily on Tuesday quoted sources close to Berri as saying that the eight round of talks would be held under his sponsorship in Ain el-Tineh on Wednesday unless it was delayed for some reason.
