Saudi to Send Three Field Hospitals to Egypt

Saudi King Abdullah ordered on Saturday the dispatch of three fully-equipped field hospitals to Egypt, a day after backing Cairo in its deadly crackdown on Muslim Brotherhood protesters.

The move is aimed at "standing by and supporting the brotherly Egyptian people, and to reduce the pressure on hospitals there," said a Saudi official cited by SPA state news agency.

Thousands Rally for Morsi in Israel

Thousands of Arab supporters of the Islamic Movement in Israel demonstrated on Saturday in support of Egypt's ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi, an Agence France Presse correspondent said.

Around 4,000 people led by firebrand preacher Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement, took part in the protest in the northern city of Nazareth, the correspondent said.

Lightning and flash floods have killed 50 people in Yemen since Friday, including 27 who died when a torrent washed away a wedding convoy, local officials said Saturday.

Storms have battered the Arabian Peninsula country since Friday, triggering flash floods in several areas that killed 41 people, while nine others, including a soldier, were struck by lightning and died.

Bahrain Says Probing Prison Riot

Bahrain's prosecutor has said it has launched a probe into riots at a detention center as an activist said 40 prisoners were wounded as authorities restored order.

Police intervened after guards at the Dry Dock detention center were attacked Friday during an inspection in which they found mobile phones possessed by detainees, BNA state news agency reported the prosecution as saying.
