Baby Reunited with Family after UAE Car Theft

A baby girl, who was in the back of a car stolen from outside a shop in the United Arab Emirates, was reunited with her parents after a frantic seven-hour search, The National newspaper reported on Monday.

The month-old girl, Lailas, was in a white Toyota Prado when it was stolen in the Santsaiya 6 area of Sharjah, not far from commercial hub Dubai, late on Saturday, after her parents left the car's engine running while they nipped into the shop, the report said.

Beirut Passengers 'Asked To Chip in' For Air France Fuel

Air France passengers on a flight which was diverted from Beirut and landed instead in Damascus were asked at one point to chip in and help pay to refuel the plane, a passenger said on Thursday.

"We went down in Syria where there were lots of soldiers ... We thought there were some problems and that there was no money to pay for the fuel," 42-year-old businessman Najib told Agence France Presse.
