Man Holding Breath in Oregon Tunnel Causes Crash

A 19-year-old man told investigators he caused a three-car crash when he fainted while holding his breath as he drove through a tunnel northwest of Portland, Oregon State Police said.

Daniel J. Calhon, of Snohomish, Washington, told investigators he fainted Sunday afternoon while holding his breath in the Highway 26 tunnel near the community of Manning, according to a news release. His car, a 1990 Toyota Camry, drifted across the centerline and crashed head-on with a Ford Explorer.

Naked Man Playing Violin at Courthouse Jailed

A naked man playing violin in front of a downtown Portland courthouse Saturday refused to walk to a squad car and had to be carried by police.

Police say they aren't sure of the man's identity. He told them his name is Matthew T. Mglej and that he is 25 years old.

Spanish Town Votes to Scrap 'Kill Jews' Name

Residents in a tiny Spanish town voted on Sunday to ditch its unfortunate, centuries-old name: Castrillo Matajudios, or Castrillo Kill Jews.

They voted 29-19 in favour of scrapping the northern Spanish town's name, in existence since at least 1623, said the mayor, Lorenzo Rodriguez.

Argentine Inspectors Locked in Refrigerated Truck

An Argentine truck driver upset that inspectors found irregularities with his refrigerated cargo shut two inspectors in the back and took them on a long, cold ride.

Sanitary control inspector Valeria Aguirre says during a routine inspection of a refrigerated truck they found that the food inside wasn't being stored at an acceptable temperature. They told the driver they were going to retain his cargo, which was described as desserts.

Students Nabbed for Releasing Crickets in School

Several students will be disciplined for releasing hundreds of crickets in a western Pennsylvania high school as a senior prank.

Chartiers Valley School District tells KDKA-TV (http://cbsloc.al/1na2OXj ) that the students involved in Thursday's prank at the high school in Bridgeville have been identified and will be disciplined. The district spokeswoman, Kara Droney, didn't say what that would entail.

Police in southern Oregon held an unlikely suspect overnight: an adorable black bear cub.

Myrtle Creek Police Chief Don Brown says a teen boy and his parents dropped off the cub in a large plastic storage bin at the police station Monday. The teen found the small animal whimpering in the bushes outside his house on the outskirts of town.
