Championship side Watford have signed Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes on a free transfer from Tottenham.

"Heurelho Gomes has agreed terms on a one-year deal at Vicarage Road and will officially become a Watford player on July 1," the clubs said on its website.

Suarez Has Surgery ahead of World Cup

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has undergone keyhole surgery on his knee and is expected to recover in time for the World Cup.

The mother of the 27-year-old Liverpool striker says he had surgery Thursday to repair damage to his meniscus. Sandra Diaz tells The Associated Press that the surgery was successful and that he is expected to recover in 2-3 weeks.
