Hizbullah stated on Thursday that those behind the deadly attack in the Beirut neighborhood of Bir Hassan will not succeed in changing adopted political policies, calling also for a “serious” national dialogue.
"Those that are experts in these barbarous acts will not succeed in changing political policies adopted locally and regionally,” MP Hassan Fadlallah stated after Loyalty to Resistance bloc's meeting.
He added: “The attacks reveal the identity of its orchestrator that is offering Zionists great services.”
On the ever of Independence Day, the Hizbullah MP called for a “serious” dialogue to take place between the Lebanese, to “build a strong state ruled by the law and governed by institutions.”
"We want to build a state that adopts an inclusive defense strategy to defend Lebanon.”
Fadlallah offered his condolences to Iran and its ambassador to Lebanon, following Tuesday's explosions.
"We bow in front of the sacrifices of our people and their poise in front of this dangerous plan.”
I urge the Lebanese to confront these terrorist attacks by strengthening their will powers, instead of adopting a policy of justifications, he added.
At least 23 people were killed and more than 145 others were wounded in a twin blast that took place on Tuesday morning near the Iranian Embassy in the neighborhood of Bir Hassan in Beirut's southern suburbs.
A security official said the first suicide attacker was on a motorcycle that carried two kilograms of explosives. He blew himself up at the large black main gate of the Iranian mission, damaging the three-story facility.
Less than two minutes later, the second suicide attacker driving a car rigged with 50 kilograms of explosives struck about 10 meters away, the official said.
The al-Qaida-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility for the bombings, according to the Twitter page of a cleric linked to the group.
"The Abdullah Azzam brigades - the Hussein bin Ali cells - are behind the attack on the Iranian embassy in Beirut," Sheikh Sirajeddine Zuraiqat, the group's religious guide, posted on Twitter.
