One Killed, Five Wounded in Akkar Armed Dispute

One person was killed and five others were wounded on Saturday evening in an individual dispute that erupted into a gunfire exchange in the northern city of Akkar, the state-run National News Agency said.

“Yehia al-Saeed, from the town of Talbibeh, was killed, and 5 members of his family were wounded in a clash with the Hussein family who hail from al-Sammaqieh village,” the NNA detailed, noting that the incident took place in the Akkar plains.

It identified the wounded as Youssef Khodr al-Saeed, Mamdouh Ahmed al-Saeed, Malek Mamdouh al-Saeed, Khodr Abdul Karim al-Saeed and Khodr Yehia al-Saeed.

The killed man's body was transferred to al-Kheir Hospital in the northern town of Minieh, and the wounded were also admitted to the same facility for treatment, according to the same source.

“An army force arrived at the scene to contain the incident and security bodies have launched an investigation in the dispute,” reported the NNA.
