Decorated Jamaican sprinter Veronica Campbell-Brown said she has been cleared to return to the track by an international panel.
In a Monday statement, the three-time Olympic gold medalist stated the Court of Arbitration for Sport has "confirmed my innocence." Campbell-Brown said she is looking forward to returning to competition and is leaving behind "insensitive and ill-informed media remarks."
The 31-year-old sprinter returned a positive test for a banned diuretic at a Jamaican meet last year. She was suspended from competition while a disciplinary panel reviewed the case.
In October, a Jamaican disciplinary panel recommended a reprimand without any period of ineligibility.
Campbell-Brown is one of the cornerstones of Jamaica's recent sprinting success.
She added she intends to defend her 200-meter world title.
