Al-Laylaki Armed Clash Injures Two

Two people were injured on Friday evening in Beirut's southern suburb of al-Laylaki in a dispute that erupted into firing gunshots at Lebanese Army troops.

"Two people from the Zoaiter family were wounded near Zeineddine restaurant (in al-Laylaki) during a clash,” the state-run National News Agency reported.

The NNA said the clashing men fired gunshots at soldiers in the area.

Army troops eventually managed to capture one of the people involved in the fighting.

Roads in al-Laylaki were also blocked with burned tires, the same source pointed out.

Meanwhile, LBCI explained that roads were blocked to protest raids in the area.

Armed disputes are frequent between different residents of al-Laylaki, particularly between the Zoaiter and Hjoula families.
